You always work with error margins in statistics and both VGChartz and NPD are within each others error margins ... so the only problem here is that some people love a company or a console so much that they must see them as the winner against another. PS3 has beaten the 360 all year WW and you don't see 360 fanboys arguing about the numbers

(A) NO NO NO you FAIL to understand.  The GENERAL statement is true under those conditions.  In that particular case it is only true if the evidence supports it which is what we are discussing in B.  Do you deny that the GENERAL statement is true?

(B) I recall distinctly that that was the case a few months back; I think the consensus was that NPD failed to adjust properly for some specific anomaly.  VGC adjusted their numbers when NPD came out and re-adjusted them back when manufacturer numbers released later yet appeared to support the original VGC numbers.  I will try to dig them up but in the meantime do you honestly deny all recollection of this, or maybe you weren't around back then?

[edit:  Hell with it, searching VGChartz news/thread archives takes too long without a search function and you'll never be convinced by either of those anyway.  I'm not delusional enough to manufacture such a memory, and if you think I'm lying, well, I can live with that.]

Final-Fan, if microsoft said PS3 beat us in North America for January and Februaby aswell as NPD and 99% of all anyalysts in the World, y would they lie?

(A), deduction proves are so weak, especially when we don't even agree on whether your 'general statement' is correct or not. Francis Bacon must be crying in his grave when he hears about this.

(B). I am not aware of it. But it's also base on the reason for adjustment. "We miscalculated/miscounted" is always better than "we are adjusting it base on NPD's number"

Being that all the analysts and Microsoft are using NPD data when they make their call, I don't see what your point is.

 

NPD is the idustry standard and there is no one else. Microsoft does not release internal sellthrough projections if they have them. Everyone is going by the NPD number. Now that it is becomign more high profile VGchartz occasionally gets mentioned. But to my knowledge VGC and NPD are the only US trackers of sellthough.  

 



Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

if you guys can do better, then start your own site and you can be biased all you want towards the PS3.

You should buy an xbox 360 anyways it'll help out our economy, buying from an american company

 Wouldn't that be like saying "you can't complain about xbox's built quality because you can't build one better"? Yeah, makes no sense.
