Since the days of the PS2, I have bought shit tons of Sega collections. With the reboots, remasters and remakes I genuinely thought this announcement was going to be something different than just another collection. This feels more like recycled news as supposed awesome news some of thought it would be. 

 

What about last nights tweet gave justification for thinking something big? Its the most low key tease ever. Its barely even a tease. It hints at "classics" and "limited appeal"

Also that boxart is amazing I love how sonic looks there. Ken sugimori is an amazing artist.

Because the games I mentioned are classics and have limited appeal. 

 

Not everyone in the present grew up playing SoR, Space Harrier etc. Remaking any of those games could fall under that category.

There's a version of Puyo Puyo included in the Hatsune Miku 3DS game which came to US last year, but I think there's no standalone Puyo Puyo 3DS game

I have some of them from the eshop, though I have also been wanting those Sega themes and I assume we get them included which is nice. Still I was hoping they would at least throw in the first few Alex Kidd games, the original Master System especially, that game was my jam back when I was a tyke.

Fei-Hung you are leaving the boundaries of intelligent discussion. This is a compilation of 16BIT games ALREADY ON ESHOP, ALREADY RELEASED AS STANDALONE TITLES. Eternal Champions, boogeymen, Planet Harriers, Snatchers are not 16BIT Genesis released games, which the 3D Classics program focuses on, and even if they were they have NOT received the treatment therefore they cant be included. Also SEGA owned games only.

Streets of Rage and Space Harrier DID receive 3D Classic remake treatment, but were SECOND batch releases. So SoA does another compilation expect them there. Your expectations make no sense.

Same guy made Golden Ax as a succesor and I feel there is no reason to look back Altered Beast. Its like a beta.

It's got a great vibe/feel to it. The gothic setting and music etc. is pretty cool to this day so, I give it a play through on my Genesis every now and then.

I was referring to the sound track during the cut scenes, boss transformations etc.
