you can call out CoD's season pass all you want, but reality is CoD:BO3 has SHIT LOADS of content. it has an 8~ hour long campaign. it has a deep and big Co-op Zombie mode, and a huge multuplayer with tons of modes and 12 maps. all these are playable in split screen, online and offline, BTW.

if anything COD:BO3 is one of the most content packed games this gen.

I've played the campaign twice, once normal difficulty and then each mission on harder to get trophies. I played the waves mode in campaign, I have yet to play the Dead Ops. I'm trying to get my MP playing brother to play the campaign as well but don't think he realises it can be played MP. I tried a bit of 'Nightmare mode' just to see what it is. I'm on prestige 4 on MP and not looking at stopping anytime soon. I've played Zombies like twice.

I'm not running out of things to do because the game has so much to do. I think Treyarch have done an amazing job in terms of value.

This said, not going to buy DLC because I don't believe in DLC. :P Don't buy it for anygame usually. I will buy GOTY collections as long as the stuff is on disc.

Hmm, pie.

Sadly, the only people we can complain is the gamers.
As long as the gamers will continue to buy these things, the companies aren't scared to implement these stuff more and even further.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I don't care since I rarely buy games at launch and mostly buy and play 5 to 15 year old games, but this year might be exception with several games that I'm interested, however one of them already lost me due to episodic release (Hitman). Whatever, it won't be nearly as good as Blood Money anyway.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Love this gen so far and it looks to become way better than last gen (I love j/rpgs) to me.

DLC:
Well I think dlc isn´t all that bad (bought some myself such as the old hunters). Personally I think the games industry should finally man up and raise the prices of games back to where they were in the 90s (that´s be 100-120$). Check it here

Broken Games: Thankfully I haven´t played one of them myself or I was simply lucky.

Remasters: I LOVE them! Just bought Resi 0 yesterday and love it (yes I have it on GC as well). I bought the Uncharted collection for christmas vacation and holy shit...Uncharted ROCKS! Next I will get Tlou which I will hopefully finish before U4

Lack of Content: Lol? games in the past were way shorter (see Lylat wars and yoshi´s story) with way less content. Also Look at stuff like the Witcher, Souls, GTA, Farcry, JC (generally Open world games) and MMOs. Those are full of content like no games in previos gens have been.

Episodic games: Wait for the last episode to release and buy the "complete" package. Also prices of each episode are usually adjusted.

EDIT:
No more EA - Yeah screw ME
No more Ubisoft - Damn straight! Who wants shit like Farcry or Child of Light
No more Activision - CoD and Starcraft should just die
No more Season pass crap - Like I said raise game prices! (this is actually not sarcastic)
Don´t buy games you know are broken until they´ve been fixed - D´uh...or do and live with them

Yup...RO friggin rocked

I actually agree with OP, I loathed the 7th generation (for consoles especially) and have never bought so few games over the span of one gen. The 8th gen seems to have taken the worst bits from the 7th and simply expanded upon them.
There are some diamonds in a sea of coal but overall; it's pretty much shit so far.
I'll wait until another couple of years have gone by to call it a disaster though, with development cycles being as long as they are today and us being only about two years into the full console cycle, there is still time to redeem it, let's hope the industry learned something from the early problems and the few who did things differently and still succeeded greatly (like CDProjekt, for instance).

I've never enjoyed gaming as much as I do today. I don't mind dlc and season passes, I don't have to buy them but usually I find them worth the money. As long as they keep making games I love to play and I'm happy to pay them.

Releasing broken games is unacceptable of course, but I don't think I've ever experienced one. Bugs are usually fixed after a while. And I pre-order most of my games or buy them soon after launch.

I love episodic games by Telltale, Life is Strange etc. I don't mind waiting, there's plenty of things in life to keep me entertained between episodes :)

If you don't like what EA, Ubisoft and Activision publish, then simply vote with your wallet and play/do something else. I'll vote for more Fifa, Titanfall, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Watch Dogs, Rayman etc

Its the worst generation and i hope it ends asap

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

Gaming is better than ever because the scope and ambition of modern games are bigger and better than ever. I have 29 wii u games and 25 xbox one games and am loving all the great games coming out. Also looking forward to getting a ps4 when uncharted 4 comes out hopefully sony release a bundle. Oh and if you don't like dlc then don't buy it, I only buy dlc if it is really worth it like Mario kart 8.

The odd thing this gen imo is that I a got a next gen console but the best games I have played so far aren't the ones using that new power. Games that sport todays graphics are lame and uninspired imo. There are a few gems thought.

Personally i'm really enjoying myself in the current generation.
I almost never buy games the day or the month of their release, so when i buy them the season passes don't really matter, and the games all got the upgrades it needed and aren't broken anymore.
It also allow me to really see what the game is really worth and not just the unrealistic presentation in the E3. That's why i didn't buy the last Battlefront because in my sense it wasn't worth the money (i do really love nice campaigns and hour of gaming alone).

I'm ok with the graphics and some of the franchises are juste incredible (the last Witcher, or the last metal gear solid were really nice).
