I think the sales would suck if it weren't for the already announced sequel. Since people know 2 is coming, they might check out 1 in advance.

I'll say it does alright in the end.

Breakeven point for the remaster is probably like 150k-200k lol

I think it's not that simple. Thet probably gave it a second chance (sequel) because they saw potential for it on PS4. That's probably why there's not even a Vita port of the sequel.

That didn't stopped Tearaway Unfolded from being a flop. 

I think GR will succeed, but not just because PS4 is a succesful console.

Well, the base it much larger, so there is a bigger chance it will sell better than the Vita version. The main reason I would see this game not selling is because of the art style and MC. People may not be into it, as well as play as a MC like Kat. That's how I see it though o:

Even if it doesn't sell well at first, the PS4 catalog will still be enriched by another great PS-exclusive game.

Sony also has several options to use Gravity Rush Remastered to promote Gravity Rush 2:

  • they can offer an attractive Gravity-Rush-1&2-bundle
  • they can offer Gravity Rush Remastered on PSN for a good price when Gravity Rush 2 launches
  • they can put Gravity Rush Remastered in the PS+ program just before Gravity Rush 2 launches
