To be honest, the last time that I was absolutely engrossed in game was with Mortal Kombat: Armageddon's Konquest mode (this was in 2013). There was something about it that absolutely captivated me. Other times recently before that were King's Field, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Metal Gear Solid 2. However, there are times when I really enjoy a game without becoming completely engrossed, it happened to me last year with Persona

Edit: Actually, it was probably in early 2014 with Tekken Hybrid (Tekken Tag Tournament HD) that I was last completely engrossed.

I played the first Phoenix Wright game last year for the first time and after that I was hooked, could not put it down until I finished all the cases and then when it was all over, I was in a pretty good mood for a while. It had such a satisfying journey and ending.

It happened recently (June or July 2015) while playing Rocket League. Never expected to have to much fun with a game like this. The same goes to Star Wars Battlefront... what a fun, casual, shooter game; and I don't even like FPS! Dust got me feeling this way too, everything was so fucking magic: the music, the artstyle, the gameplay, etc. I never expected to like it especially with all those furry characters, but I enjoyed it a lot... even this aspect of it! :P

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I had this feeling when I played EarthBound and Xenoblade Chronicles for the first time, both games were just incredibly amazing.
