Forums - Nintendo - Viewtiful Joe on my Wii!

Yeah, if any of you people actually thought I was talking about a Viewtiful Joe Wii game, then I have three steps for you to follow:

1) Print out entire contents of the internet

2) Roll up printouts into a rigid tube

3) Smack yourself in the face... HARD

With that out of the way. I just wanted to let people know that I just bought Viewtiful Joe for $10 at Best buy. I had heard good things about it, but had other games that took up my attention and I wasn't ready to take a risk on an unproven game for the price it had been originally going for. Seeing it hit $10 I figured, heck, I don't have that many gamecube games. I spent $15 for Excite Truck and that turned out pretty well, $10 for this could be a pretty sweet deal. So far, I've played it for about 2 hours and I'd say I'll get my money's worth within the next two hours of play time.

So far, it's challenging, fun and quirky and the puzzles actually make you think about how the various powers you have can be applied in ways you just wouldn't really expect right off the bat. In many ways, it actually feels like a clean version of No More Heroes crossed with Prince of Persia. (just my guess, since I've only seen, but haven't played those two at all)

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

It is a great game. The difficulty level is beyond your imagination if you strive to beat the game on its highest difficulty. (It is not accessible at first, you have to unlock it by beating it on hard and then on V-rater) I did it, and know of no one else on this site who has. If you beat the game on the hardest setting, you unlock Captain Blue as a playable character.

I don't want to spoil anything for you, but that game only gets better as you go through it, and the end boss fight is pretty epic.

If you like the game you should pick up VJ2 if you can find it. Not as good as the first one IMO, but still a great game.

Oh, and a great purchase for only $10.

I found Mega Man Anniversary Collection the other day for $12. It's nice to see some bargain Gamecube games for sale that you can play on the Wii.

@grayacumen.

What other gamecube games do you have?

You should pick up both Metroid Primes if you can find them. Many other good ones also, and Wind Waker was an excellent game IMO.

Played Windwaker, It was okay, might play through it again sometimes, but the sailing and the triforce pieces always end up as a black spot on the game for me.

I make a point to not play FPS unless it's either Mouse+PS2 controller or Wii+Nunchuck, so the Metroid games for Gamecube are pretty much out.

I had a sonic collection, 4 swords adventure, windwaker, SSBM(of course), Sonic Adventure DX (which was honestly quite good) and Zelda: Master Quest.

I owned Mario Kart Double Dash for a while, but I just hated it. the dual rider thing just felt utterly horrendous, and every track felt dull to race on. I think I actually already own as many games on the Wii as I've owned in the entire lifetime of the Gamecube.

The two GC games you need are Ikaruga and Beyond Good and Evil. Good luck finding those magical gems.

Great choices. Beyond Good and Evil isn't really that hard to find though. Maybe a bit more on GC, but I find used PS2 copies everywhere at Gamestop. As far as Ikaruga, it's cheaper to probably buy a used Dreamcast, a blank CD and download the CDI image and burn it.

Other notables for GC: Eternal Darkness, Luigi's Mansion, Killer 7, Alien Hominid, Gladius, Beach Spikers, Super Monkey Ball 2, and the Prince of Persia Trilogy. There's others but my brains flatulating right now.

Mmmmm Pikmin. It's gotta be the most romantic game I've ever played. Cheap used, and just amazing fun puzzles and gameplay.

I also recommend Killer7. It's about $10 used these days.

You got ripped off sir my store has Veiwtiful Joe for 5 dollars, but yes it was worth the full price I paid for it, I loved every minute of that game, it almost seems endless with all the difficulty levels you can pick and its hard, Fire Leo pisses me off so badly.
