Forums - Gaming - Blast from the past - what console gives you your fondest gaming memories?

The GameCube! The SNES is my favorite console, but I have more fond gaming memories with the good ol' purple cube. I will never forget the amount of fun I had with games like Paper Mario TTYD, Melee, Resi 4 and Metroid Prime.

PS1, nothing will ever top that system for me, the gamecube comes close but the PS1 gave me the best moments of my gaming life.

It is very hard to choose but today i choose the Gamecube.
My kids were getting older and I got some play time on my own. We still had multiplayer blasts with Double Dash (even my wife joined in), Smash Bros (I sucked big time), Mario Party (that was intense) and Timesplitters (so much fun).

On my own I played two great Zelda games, my favourite Mario ( Sunshine), Factor 5 Star Wars games, RE4 Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Need for Speed, Super Monkey Ball, Tony Hawk, Viewtiful Joe, Eternal Darkness, Chibi-Robo, LOTR:tRoftK, Wave Race, Beyond Good and Evil.

I watched as my oldest son played Killer 7,Fire Emblem and Ikaruga (with the CRT TV turned sideways),
It has the games I probably played the most ever: Animal Crossing (with Freeloader because I bought the NTSC version), Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (thanks to my oldest son), Paper Mario TTYD and Smuggler's Run.

It was such a good system that I totally missed out on Luigi's Mansion, Star Fox, Tales of Symphonia, F-Zero and other games.
After that it was X360 for some years and I did not play much for a couple of years (except Vikings: Battle for Asgard).

But another day I might choose another console as my favourite!

The PS3 :-3

SNES hands down. It was released while I was between 10 - 15, I had tons of gaming time back then plus the games are so amazing. I remember my parents bringing us away to a remote town for a weekend and my brother and I bringing our SNES and a rented Secret of Mana... such a great weekend!

The PS1 changed gaming for me. It was like jumping from the Children's section at the library to the Young Adults section. Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy Tactics, Gran Turismo ... it was just such a huge step forward on so many fronts.

It's between SNES and N64. Those two always make me remember of my childhood and why I grew to love games in the first place. So iconic and nostalgic... words cannot express.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Nes. Dodging Bowsers buttstumps is still one of my fave moments.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Although I started off of the NES, it will always be the SNES that hold my fondest memories of gaming. Chrono Trigger, A Link To The Past, Super Mario RPG, FFIII (aka FFVI) , DK Country, Contra III, Turtles In Time, SF: II. All great games that built the foundation for my love of gaming.

N64 gets an honourable nod as that was my second most memorable console.
