First gomba in SMB on NES killed me once when was showing someone how to play. I felt mortified as a kid.

I can imagine the look on your face XD.

OT: Of course it has happened to me, many, many times. Too many to remember them all.

But to me, the worse ones are when you die for being an idiot, like when are stuck in a certain section of a stage dying all the time and, trying to reach that point for the hundreth time as fast as possible, you get killed before getting there by missing the easiest jump ever or the weakest enemy all of. It's a "I can't be that silly, right? Well, yes I can."

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Metal Gear Solid 1, four times. At first, Roy Campbell adviced me to check the back cd case, i was like what's that?. Second, when Psycho-Mantis turns black screen with "Hideo" texted, i actually turned off PS1... My old TV is exact same when turn off devices. Third, Again, Psycho-Mantis, didn't know i have to switch controller port into port 2... Fourth, the Pal key weather tricked me ._.

Thanks H.Kojima.

Not usually, unless its like Uncharted series. I would often overthink it.

One time I tried to solve the library puzzle extremely intricately, when it was actually very simple.

Me and my mate were playing Lego Batman 2 and we were stuck on what we were meant to do on a mission. This is a game designed for kids and me and him are both over 30, with degrees. Yet apparently working out I had to smash a part of the wall so Batman could get to a higher area is beyond us, I think for 10 minutes we just had Batman jumping against a wall.

Hmm, pie.

Hahaha I know that area you are talking about. I almost died in that area too but I came to my senses before my party died. XD

On the other hand, I failed to do the QTE sequence in Yakuza 5 because I was too busy watching the fight, forgetting that I had to press some buttons to win. -_-

Lets just say the Bear ate my character...

In Dark Souls, I got through the Undead Asylum without dying once. I felt like a champ. Then , just after the Undead Asylum, while heading to the Undead Burg. At the first group of enemies, the first thing I do is to literally dodge roll myself of the cliff.

I felt like an idiot.

Now that I remember, Driver had this last mission, The President's Run, where you had to escort the president from one end of New York to another, which was seemingly impossible since the mafia cars were homing into Tanner's car. I only remember completing the mission using a glitch where I placed the car beside a building and the rabid cars rammed me, sending the car into the air, landing into an invisible rooftop into the "blue hell" and completing the mission.

Driver 2 had this mission... Chase the Gunman. The most infuriating mission I've ever had to play. You had to crash this car which was fastest than you through Rio on a cliffside with a bunch of cars obstructing the path.

On Driver 3, there was this mission on Istambul called The Chase, where you had to chase this woman called Calita all over the damn town. The car they give you (Alpine A110) has a lot of oversteer for some extremely narrow streets. The lightpoles were drilled 100 feet to the ground, so if you crashed into one, she ran away and you lose. This segment alone took my brother, my cousin and I like 100 tries, maybe more. The second segment on the other side of Istambul was with motorbikes, which could be ended quickly if you sideswipe her bike. Funny enough, I bought the game again a several years later, and completed the mission in two tries.

This mission was the bane of my existence. It didn't help that Tanner begins with his car facing the opposite direction to where Calita goes... -_____-

As someone else mentioned already, i'm currently playing Dark Souls 2: SoTFS on PS4 and there have been countless times where I either finally get to an enemy i've been fighting towards for a while and immediately roll off a cliff by accident or right when i'm about to defeat the enemy and roll off a cliff by accident. Shit sucks when it happens.

Especially when I have a lot of souls on me and I have to go all that way to get them back.
