Agreed. That's what I was saying all the time: no new Nintendo home console in 2016. I think it's hilarious that people still think a 2016 launch is possible. lol.

I finding very hilarious people ignoring things like:

"When was last time Nintendo announced new Wii U game that isnt small project, spinoff or port!? I personally cant remember, maybe Star Fox Zero at E3 2014!? Why is that, because Nintendo is focused on NX probably from 2014. and they continue to support Wii U only with previously announced games, small projects, spinoffs and ports.

Nintendo president did not mention at all 3DS/Wii U but he mentioned specifically NX in message for 2016. plans for investatiors.

Also Digitimes report, Wall Street Journal report and Nomura Securities report (Japanes business analyst firm)...all saying NX will launch in 2016."

LOL.

All answered by me. Recap:

1:Nintendo stated they were not going to talk about games years before release. Wanted to focus on next 6 months.

2:Investors are more curious about upcoming projects than things they already know about. Revealing the NX and phone apps/games are important enough to shift focus to that besides their last place console.

3:All the same people who are saying 2016 release are all guessing, the same as all of us.

LOL

Of Course, but revealing hardware 18 months before launch doesn't work any more, Nintendo already said they wanted to show earlier NX but the afraid competition could still they ideas, like I wrote, I am pretty sure Nintendo will do something similar with NX this year like Sony/MS done with PS4/X1 review and launch.

Also Digitimes report, Wall Street Journal report and Nomura Securities report (Japanes business analyst firm)...all saying NX will launch in 2016.

Those were all predictions no different than what you and I are doing now.

Also, Star Fox may have been talked about 2014 with a small picture, but compare that picture to the most recent footage. Also, yet again it isn't like they couldn't announce new games. Nintendo also said they didn't want to reveal new games we'd have to wait years to get.

Yes, but different for me and you there are far more compelling and trusted to talk about manners like that than talk of two random guys on forum.

Star Fox Zero is announced at E3 2014, same like Splatoon, basically last bigger new announcements from Nintendo that are not small project, spinoff or ports, and that was year and half ago! That clearly point that from 2014. focus is on NX, so we want have new games announcements that are not small projects, spinoffs or ports for Wii U any more (exepct maybe Pikmin 4), why would Nintendo do all that if they dont plan to relase NX this year!?

And I answered the bolded, albeit it was to a point made by another user:

Recap:

I don't think the mention and or ommission of certain platforms are strong enough indicators as to when a product will be launched / retired. Equally, you could read between the same lines and take the quote "we are creating a new membership service called “My Nintendo” and a new account system, which should work as a bridge between our dedicated video game platforms and other devices" - the plural is emboldened here - as this refers directly to the 3DS and Wii U.

In fact, even that famous graphic about the membership service - with the computer, tablet and phone on one side, and the 3DS, Wii U and NX on the other could be interpreted the same way.

Dates have been deliberately avoided here, because, true to their word, they intend not to reveal any details about the NX until some time this year.

Different how? We're all getting the same info at the end of the day. The times where there were people in the know, on the low are over.

Next, we are good all the way to years end on Wii U and 3DS titles. What we know nothing about what are next years releases, besides knowing Pikmin 4 is near completion.

Judging from the state of the Wii U release slate this year, by normal standards you'd think NX was already on shelves...

Vita 2 isn't, Dreamcast 2 isn't, Virtual Boy 2 isn't. Sometimes you gotta sleep in the bed you made for a while.

People thinking NX is coming this year is the most annoying thing, next to a broken shift key.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Maybe, but sometimes cutting your losses and moving on also pays off, as it did for Microsoft with the 360.

Nintendo are losing shelf space in retailers, they wait too long they might not claim it back.

4 years isn't an awful lifespan. And 5 years with no releases for 18 months is arguably worse.

Also Vita has more physical Q1 releases than Wii U currently has all year...

And a release with few amazing titles is what Wii U was.

*edit* Oh, and more people will probably buy more Zelda U copies than the entire Q1 Vita releases combined.

They must have quite a lot of secret next gen projects brewing up. Wii U would have had far more prominent projects post Splatoon if they didn't.
