Forums - Nintendo - Just bought Rodea the Sky Soldier and it came with the original Wii Version

I haven't played the game, but everything I've read indicates that the Wii version is better than the Wii U version simply because the Wii Remote controls are better than the GamePad controls.

If this is true, I find it odd that they wouldn't have made Wii Remote controls an option for the Wii U version, since I'm assuming the graphics are better. But then again, apparently the graphics are crap in this game anyway so maybe it doesn't matter.

Play the Wii version. The other version misses the point entirely.

Just play the Wii version. The controls aren't good and they suck a lot of the life out of the colors in the Wii U version.

bet: lost

Where did you get the Wii version? I've been looking for it for a while

I have heard almost nothing good about the Wii U version. It looks worse, plays worse, and is all around crappier than the Wii version. The flying controls are apparently imprecise and jarring on the Wii U version, reflecting that nobody on the development team wanted to actually try making a Wii U version to begin with. If the Wii version had come out solo, the game would probably be sitting at a comfortable 8/10 or so average. Instead the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game were thrashed for being essentially port trash, and the Wii version kind of gets forgotten in between.

Essentially, just play the Wii version.

Then again, you seem to have some weird attraction to bad games, so maybe the Wii U version will be right up your alley. (slight trololo)

Wii version is vast superior. Sky Rodea is made thinking on the WiiMote, so that's why it's bundled.

check amazon, if the wii version is sold separately.  the better value would be the wii u first print which include the wii version.

spurge, are you able to use wiimote on the wii u version? my order would come on saturday, hopefully the wii version is bundled.

The Wii U version does not feature motion controls, which is one of the major reasons it was rated so poorly. The Wii U version is restricted to standard controls that are completely lacking in optimization to make a smooth, functional gameplay experience.

Yuji Naka himself recommends playing the Wii version, so that tells ya something...
