Forums - PC - PC shipments showed record decline in Q4 2015

The OP didn't suggest that tho, nor did the title. It just presented raw numbers.

And yet PCG is telling differently from this.

Also if it's about numbers then why isn't this in sales?, especially if this has nothing to do with "PC gaming"?.

Also decided to take a gander at PCGamers article which actually shows individual component manufactures like Nvidia and others making more profit and double digits.

More are moving away from pre-builts to mobiles and phones for their casual needs while those who are gamers in that spectrum are building their own and buying the parts more and more.

http://www.pcgamer.com/pc-sales-suffer-record-fall/

So PC gaming itself isn't in a decline or dying like we're being click baited to suggest. The only decline is for those that sell over prices pre-built PC's, most of which aren't created for gaming in mind.

Just about half of Nvidia's profits come from GPUs though.

Their GPU revenue has varied over the years, but more or less tops around $700 million for some 10 years already. Net profit is so high at the moment because it's really, really cheap to produce stuff on 28nm right now, and the fact they cannibalized a nice share of historical AMD GPU and GPGPU market with Kepler and specially Maxwell.

I think a big part of the problem is that Intel is complacent.

An I2600K OC is still viable for everything 4+ years later. What is the reason to upgrade? The performance increase is just not worth the extremely minor upgrade. If computers bought 2 years ago, aren't much faster than a new computer than what incentive do customers have to upgrade?

Complacent doesn't really put it in the right light. Intel shifted it's focus back then however: Compare an iGPU from a core i7 2xxx with one of a core i7 6xxx. They are litterally worlds apart and then some. They could afford this radical shift because neither AMD or IBM (servers) did really threaten their CPUs in those years. Depending on what ZEN and/or POWER9 can bring this could potentially end up really badly for Intel (chances are slim this could happen, though)

No one suggested that PC gaming is in trouble. Not the OP, not the title, not a single post in this thread talks about PC gaming being doomed. That's what I meant to say with my first reply to you.

I bought Geforce 210 for my 08' office PC for video, integrated wasn't capable.

My Etsy store

My Ebay store

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Then what connection are we supposed to establish here?. We know pre-builts are mostly for the casual folk, are we going to post about cherry switch sales or something next?.

Yeah most people who play build their PC's. Especially now more and more people know it's basically lego.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

My biggest problem is that PCs seem to have stalled. the power increase is slow these days.

I have i7 third gen laptop with 8gb of ram and honestly speaking I have yet to say fuck this thing is shit I need to get a new upgrade.

I get a new laptop every 2 years, I use it for everything except gaming I have thought about getting a desktop PC but I don't see the use any more. Smartphones, Tablets, Laptop's and even the laptop seems to be getting to much of a hassle...

It's just presenting interesting data about the pc market.  It should be in the sales thread now that you mention it so go ask a mod if you really care.  I didn't really give it much thought when choosing the forum.  Just seen pc and was like yeah pc news.

I don't get why people are so sensitive and go out of their way to be outraged.  Chill dude
