Nope. 3d world is tracking ahead of sunshine and smash for wii u was canibalized by the 3ds version. All other games are around the same level or higher than their GC counterparts. |
VGChartz numbers have 3D World 2.3 million below Sunshine, and Smash U 2.4 million below Melee.
GCN + GBA also sold over 100 million units while Wii U + 3DS are on track for about 80 million.

surely you're aware of the obvious mistakes made with the Wii U though? you're acting as if NIntendo put out a top of the line system and failed or something. they still dominate the handheld market and put out a home console that had a name that made no sense (not at all like the Wii) and that was expensive for its capabilities and had a strange controller
I think its pretty obvious that if Nintendo had released a traditional console then their hardware sales numbers (handheld + home) would be matching that of the GBA and Gamecube era
at any rate you're trying to make a point about Smash and 3D world being behind at the moment but if the Wii U continues to be sold for another year or two its quite possible those leads will be erased anyway
using software as a way to make your point would be crazy, the 3DS has pushed way more software than Nintendo was pushing with their handhelds in some of their earlier generations and I would not be suprised if software sales wise the 3DS is beyond the GBA

Of course they made mistakes, (if your console sells 15 million lifetime you obviously made mistakes) but that doesn't change the end result.
All we can hope for is that Nintendo fixes these mistakes moving forwards so that next gen isn't a reprise of this one.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
So 52 vs 40.
Tri Force Heroes, Super Mystery Dungeon, Paper Jam, Fire Emblem Fates, and the eventual Pokemon Z will make it 45.
Then Twilight Princess HD, Star Fox Zero, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Zelda Wii U will make it 49. Plus, some other titles that are already out that I think will leg it out to 1 million.
For 3DS:
Sonic Generations
Dragon Quest VIII
and PilotWings Resort I think will make it 52.
Than for Wii U.
ZombiU and Bayonetta 2 will make it 54.
So in the end, I say 3DS+Wii U million sellers > GBA+GC million sellers.

lol... those acrobatics, man
here we also have a list of sony's million selling games from generation 6. youll notice two things: the first is that it is less than nintendo's 6th gen list and the second is that they did manage to pad their list with quite a few casual games. other than that, it is still a pretty respectable list with a lot of great games on it. it just isnt as long as nintendo's. i dont know if that settles any of the arguments that have occurred recently on this thread, but what we can gather is that nintendo has sold 10 more million selling games with a gen 6 install base of 55 million less than sony's.
