How does one even spend that much money in that game? Does it actually have DLC worth over 7000 dollars? I agree that the kid should have been much more responsible with his purchases, but the amount seems ridiculous for a sports game.
17? barely a boy, he knew what he was doing. If it was 7 to 9 fair enough.
Hmm, pie.
Wow great story that why i hope that microtransactions fail and the idea rots in hell

Microsoft is within its right. And his kid is lying. Even if he didn't know it would continue to cost money for each time he bought it, he did buy it once at least fully aware that he was using a card given to him for "emergencies and the family's convenience store."

This sheds some light, I suppose.
Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

The kid is lying and the dad is an idiot. You don't give kids credit cards that's just asking for trouble. At most give them a debit card with $500 on it so the damage is minimal. Personally I wouldn't even do that.
yo, he got Messi in his team for only 7000$, everyone will want this guy as their football club manager lmao
I'm 16 and the guy clearly knew what he was doing...

It's not dlc, it's microtransactions in FUT. FIFA has a mode in which you build your team and buy packs which have players and items. You can buy them with money you win by playing matches, buy individual players on the online market or with fifa points which you buy
I assume he bought a million fifa coins to spend on random packs to get awesome players.
It's not that fifa has over 7000$ in dlc
