Gameplay over graphics. There are ways to make a game look great while also playing great. And even without gameplay, the game could have used a stronger story.

Sure, the prettier the better, but that come as a cost. The game is extremely linear and short, and is lacking in several departments as you will notice.and that probably happened because of the overimportance that was given to the graphics. As someone posted once, even the doorknobs have reflections!!!Not to mention that it would skyrocket both the development time and costs if you wanted to get to that level of graphics without sacrificing time in producing the content of the game in the level of, lets say the Witcher 3, supposing that would be even possible of course.
But I agree that games should come out of the game without performance problems. An infortunate trend nowadays
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

just visually and techncallly
he didnt gameplaywise remember that
i'd like to be the base ability of next gen with 60fps + 2160p
but i'm probably dreaming
hopefully theres a crazy jump in gpu , cpu tech in the next 2-3 years
Definitely the most technically advanced graphics I have ever seen in any game, on any platform. And this is coming from a PC gamer. That aside, the setting had a lot of cool potential. Too bad it was wasted on a short third person shooter with too many QTEs.
Still though...dem graphics!

Its possible to have both, the 1st Crysis and the Metro games come to mind.
Graphically the game is pretty good. I don't think anybody doubts that. It's just the other bits that make a game good is lacking.
This is the opinion I get without playing it from what I've heard and seen. I still plan on getting for about a tenner

imagine if this level of fidelity was possible with much much more open levels ( last of us/uncharted 4 ish ) at 2160p + 60fps as base graphics
thatll be killer even for amazing current gaming pcs
do think we'll hit that standard easily in gen 9 , tho i wish this for gen 8 base
It should have been that when it comes to 8thy gen but honestly good visuals come at a cost and not a cheap one either along with strict 30fps locks and this gen was supposed to be all about achieving and getting 1080p 60fps, not 900-1080p 30-60fps and so far it's been a muddled mess of what machine can do what res and fps with visuals more or less staying the same with slight bumps here and there.
I expect if there is going to be a PS5 that they at least stay at a consistent 1080p 60fps, maybe if lucky a res bump near 2k but honestly this gen and last prove it's best to stay towards a target you can reach most of the time than simply throwing a dart at a target and praying you can keep at it, I don't want another gen where people and a company boast of what they can do and then the following results prove them differently.
While TO does look nice, I don't see it looking better than Star Citizen and that's not even out yet but when it is I expect that to be taking the Crysis/Metro mantle in terms of visuals and having an vast open world experience.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
