Forums - Gaming - Are these games too RPG for me?

Typically I play FPS, third person shooters, and adventure/action games.  Call of duty series, infamous ss,  dying light, uncharteds, last of us, all the way to zelda series.  Not a huge fan of overly complex inventories, etc. that many RPG games have.  Just wonder on opinions of witcher 3 or bloodborne.  Are they closer to a zelda type game with simple inventory, leaning more toward action/adventure... or they like oblivion, etc. where they are hardcore RPGs that consume a lot of time, have complex inventory, character leveling, potion mixing, yadda yadda...

I might not mind a decent amount of that asuming the game get to and maintains action sequences at a good pace.  Any recommendation?  Thought about picking up the order, but heard it was pretty bad.  Trying to fill the gap between now and uncharted 4 release.

Also have xbox one and wii u if there are any gems there I am missing (played tomb raiders).

In terms of hardcore RPG, Bloodborne is by far the simplest. The game is just hard.Takes time and patience to get good at the game, but it isnt complex.
The Witcher 3 is more complex however.I personally dont find the item management, inventory and so on complex, but if you are not much of a fan of the genre to begin with, it may be overwhelming for you.And yes the game is long.Expect around 70 hours just to go through the campain with minimal sidequesting.

Try Bloodborne. As long as you are a patient guy, the game is almost a masterpiece.Just hope that story is not important to you, because it sucks, thought the atmosphere is great.Do give it a try

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Based on your opinion, I'd stay away from The Witcher, but Bloodborne should be fine. As for missing Wii U gems, nothing really comes to mind. Maybe Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate?

Just play them both. You get the hang of it in an hour or so.

OK, thanks all.  I think I will start with Bloodborne, and then move to Witcher 3 for now.

Depends on how difficult you want a game to and how much story you want in game. Both are Action RPGs, though. I personally like the witcher 3 more because of it's well crafted story and sober but often fun quests. You'll probably have to test the waters with both though.
