Totally forgot about that game. My cousin had it back in the day and we use to play it. Added to the list!

...SNES, a brand new sealed official SNES controller as well as a bunch of games. I owned all three current generation consoles but my Xbox One was just collecting dust and I saw no point in holding on to a paper weight while it depreciates in value. I had a SNES when it launched but sold it many years ago and figured hell, I'd get 100 times more use out of this thing than an Xbox One anyway so I jumped.
The games that I have are Zelda ALTTP, Super Metroid, Star Fox, DCK 1,2 and 3, SMW, NBA Jam TE, Super Bomberman and F-Zero. I have never played Zelda, Super Metroid, Mortal Kombat 2, Star Fox and DKC3 so they're all going to be new to me. I plan to get Super Mario Kart, Secret of Mana, FF2, Yoshi's Island and Killer Instinct but I'd like to know if there's anymore I'm leaving off my must have list. I really don't like rpgs with random battles, even though I'm getting FF2 (was a childhood game I had back in the day so I must get it) so Mario RPG and any other FF games are off the table.
What do you guys suggest?

Mega Man X, Earthworm Jim, Kirby's Dream Land III, Super Castlevania IV, and I'd recommend forgetting about your no random battle rule for Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III.

What is Megaman X all about anyway? I own all six 8-bit games on NES, but I have never played the "X" series before.

Playing emulated SNES games on an Ouya with a PS3 controller wouldn't feel right. For one thing, I haven't seen one emulated game that emulates the original game 100%. Every single time, there's something off. Whether it's the sound or the color lay out. None of them ever look or sound like the real thing does on my CRT TV.
Another thing I don't like is that it's just files. I don't OWN anything. I grew up in this era of gaming, and played these games on a real SNES. Tactially, there is alot lost going the rout you prefer.
And finally, imo... playing emulated games is alot like jacking off to porn. Sure, it's cheaper and it gets the job done, but it's never as good as actually FUCKING a real woman. You know what I mean?

Owning one feels great I understand that but seems like you like 2D games why did you traded your X1 for a SNES is beyond me. The console is fairly easy to find but the games... omg people are selling the original games like they are brand new. Here in Quebec you can pay up to 100$ for a game like Final Fantasy or 40$ for Super Mario All Star. There was more convenient and less expensive ways to play these games like by emulation or directly through a Ouya. Anyway that's your choice who am I to judge? If you even get an emulator on PC I would suggest you try these games. Final Fantasy Bahamut Star Ocean Dracula X Lufia 2 7th Saga 2 Secret of Mana 2 Fire Emblem |
People are selling SNES games for alot of money but most of them were much more expensive when they came out. When I was a kid, most of them were like $70.00 US which would be like $120.00 US now lol. Plus, I honestly would enjoy most of them more than most modern games that I could buy for $60.00, you know? I know there is this idea that old games should be dirt cheap but I don't see logic in it. If I buy the new MGS for $60.00, beat it and then never play it again, then wouldn't it be more logical to spend $70.00 on Secret of Mana and own one of the greatest RPGs of all time that I will get to play over and over again? Or Super Metroid? To me, even though they are 20 year old games, their value is greater.
And I didn't even know Star Ocean was that old lol. Does it have random encounters? Secret of Mana 2 would be great but I don't think there's an offical US SNES cart out there as it was only released in Japan.
