If companies expectations are low in short term and the sales are like they expected can we call it a success?

That is how I would define success, so yes.  If a company has their expectations for an initiative met, they succeed.

Samsung is destroying everyone, gear VR is $99 and it is mobile.....

Probably, when it's cheaper. I was surprised to know that there were people surprised by the $600 dollar price tag. I wasn't expecting less than that.

Unless the movie industry makes a push for VR cinema, it'll be a niche market. We'll arrive at a point where many PC games will get some kind of VR support - but it won't be mainstream / get console support for a long while.

Ultimately, VR needs a killer app the general public can't ignore. Something that justifies VR's existence the way Wii Sports did for the Wii. I've long believed that killer app would likely be some kind of racing sim that really genuinely delivers the thrills of racing without time and price tag of having a hobby of owning and racing cars, bikes, etc.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

VR is going to replace TV's, Projectors and monitors for the most part.

This is like going from the telegraph to the phone, or from a candle to a light bulb. It is going to be a slow transition, but in the end, the flat 2D TV screen is going to be just a stepping stone to a better way life. People 100 years from now wil be looking back at pre-VR video wondering how people could sit in front of something like that for hours.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

VR is natural progression tech soon or later it should be standard in some way

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Current systems are far too weak for VR. The Sony VR-Box needs to be several times as powerful as the PS4 itself to enable fluid gaming with dual 1080p and the ultra high frame rates required.

Sony should release a PS4K with Virtual Reality hardware included. But at the current price point of $1500 just for VR capable hardware, there is no market for it. VR is also not very comfortable, it may get the same acceptance problems as 3D and in the end nobody will use it.
