Ugh, personally I hate ports of old games as launch titles for a new console. It was terrible for the Wii U, and I would hate it again for the NX. Honestly, having some new games would be better than ports, but I feel that is for another discussion.

The most successful port would maybe be a.... COD game maybe? Or GTA5? I dunno. My response to porting a existing game usually is "...why? I can get X game on Y or Z console already. Why would I get it again..?"

I love most of the titles you list and would be appealing to me greatly, but this thread isn't about me, haha. Most people probably wouldn't care about these games...

Personally, an old port would still be interesting if it offered something new and fresh for the experience. For example, Resident Evil 4: Wii edition was great post-launch game, even if Re4 was released GC almost 2 years before - it had all the extras from the Ps2 version, plus wiimote controls. The same goes for some New Play Control games released by Nintendo, like Pikmin1/2 and Metroid Prime (though they were released later).

The problem is most WiiU launch games were old, half-assed and didn't add much to the original experience.

Hmm yeah, that is true. If there was an option to play Assassin's Creed but as Zero Suit Samus, or use Link or other chaarcters in Tekken Tag Tourney 2, I think I would be interested in getting those games. Though I dunno if those ports offered new extras in them...

Tekken Tag 2 offered a lot of extras for Wii U...still flopped. But i have a question, why do they NEED extras? Isnt it enough that they release the same time as others? Does a dev really have to add extra stuff to the version of a game that they know wont even get close to the sales of other versions?

True. Nintendo needs to end this droughts, they are killing their hardware bussiness. I hope that sharing the libraries will allow them to speed the software production up.

I disagree on the Wii part. The Wii had a lot of support, tons, in fact. But 3rd parties saw the potential of that casual audience and dedicated way more efford on shoverlware and motion controll-based minigames rather than on the core experience (and looking how well the former ones sold compared to the latter, and how quick and cost-effective they were, that',s not surprising). After the Wii was replaced, we can find tons of good core games (Mad World, No More Heroes 1&2, Little King's Story, Dead Space: Infestation, Red Steel 2, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Rayman Origins...), but back in the day, they were massively overshadowed by the rest.

Software isn't going to produced faster, but redundancies will be eliminated (they won't need to make two Mario Kart games) and the perceived amount of software that is produced will go up. There actually won't be more games, but without them being divided onto two systems, people will view NX a lot differently than previous systems.

None of the Wii games you listed were worth $50, except for the two first party titles you smuggled in. Casual games didn't have a higher success rate on the Wii, but third parties were first and foremost in for the quick buck to subsidize development of their HD games for PS3 and 360; Ubisoft even straight up admitted it. There was no honest intent to build lasting relationships with consumers and the software output of most publishers clearly shows that.

Whether they were worth 50 or not is your opinion. Casual games didnt have a high sucess rate? Are we gonna ignore stuff like Raving Rabbids, Carnival games, Zumba Fitness, hell i think that Jillain Micheals game did a quarter mil, Just Dance is the only game still selling on Wii year in year out. It doesnt matter why they were made, the numbers speak for themselves and those games were made with less budget than the ones you deemed werent worth 50 bucks.

90% released later than other versions so extras would be nice. instead, content was removed.

If you want to play the opinion card, then you won't be able to claim that they were worth $50 either.

Success rate implies percentage. So yes, I dare to claim that core games had a higher success rate on the Wii.

exactly, its not a card play. You cant say what's worth 50 or not. Its up to the person.

percentage of what? games sold? what metric are you using. The only one that matters in this case is copies sold. Zumba did 4mil plus by itself for example. How many core games not made by Ninty had those kinds of sales. Closest i can think is MH

Edit: MH on WIi sold 2.37 according to this site, so thats good but still not close.

Sales numbers and used game prices can be used as metrics to determine the value of a game. Based on those, the games weren't worth $50.

Percentage of games made, of course. What else would it be? If you don't even know the definition of a term (in this case, success rate), why do you rush to post a counter-argument? A counter-argument that obviously doesn't work because you don't know what you are arguing against in the first place.

So by that logic would you agree that the casual games were worth 50? cause its cool if you think that.

They made more these casual games than anything else, so that would lead me to believe they were a success otherwise why keep making them? The better the game sold the more successful, thats how its always been, dont know why you are ignoring that.

Tekken Tag 2 flopped in general, compare the userbase of WiiU at launch date to those of Ps3 and 360 and you'll see it has actually flopped less on WiiU compared to other paltforms.

No if they make the same game at the same time and with a good port I'm not expecting any extra. With my inital post I was referring to games arriving late.

I think the PS3 version did good for what it is, this isnt a mainline game, so sales dont need to be that high. And i reject the whole userbase argument could we could find games that did better on systems with a smaller userbase than not.

Of course if something is late it should have extras, thats just good sense.

I'll respond to you if you make an effort to understand the things that I was saying. Would be nice of you.

actually explain your point then.

OT, outside of the ones that already proved to be successful, none really
