So you wanted to come in and do anything you can to downplay the news? I'm willing to bet it hit over a million on Xbox One with 360 selling the lesser amount. However good tactical move on the downplay, make sure to hit up all the other Xbox One threads, some new ones you have not hit yet. Try to be creative, we are counting on you.

There's no need to downplay the news, 1 million is a small sales number.

In under 2 months on one system? So you also want to join the bandwagon? We have a blade sharpener for your axe if you need it...

It seems to be doing just fine or what's your magic number?  The last Tomb Raider did 6.23 million on 5 systems, so that is an average of 1.246,000. The highest system being 2.45 Million and that was seen as a massive success, this should easily reach 2 Million units on XBox One alone. Now please tell me why it's such a failure on Xbox One when it's producing just as good of numbers as the last TR that was seen as a success?

Seems you are not too knowledgeable. Last Tomb Raider sold 8.5mil+ .

Secondly, if you want to make a logical comparison, try doing it apples to apples. Ala, comparing it with Uncharted and Gears series.

Both Uncharted and Gears series easily sells 6mil+ on a single system.

Square was disappointed with 4 million combined sales. 1 million is a good start, but if Square's budget was similar this time around then it will still need PC and probably PS4 to make a decent enough profit for this iteration of Lara to get a 3rd crack at the market. If it gets to 3 million on Xb one then square could be willing to look at another timed exclusive on Xb one, but probably only 6 months unless MS stumps up more cash.

Or Square already got their pockets full with the MS deal and they didn't need a sales deadline for Tomb Raider this time. The question that remains, considering the game sold over one million units, is if it was profitable for Microsoft.

I think Europe helped it loads, not digital. When I did the November Amazon thread I noticed it was doing ok in most countries. But I'm still surprised at 1M+ sold to consumers even if it's for XB1 and 360.

Comparing current gen numbers to last gen numbers is officially forbidden thanks to ordinance 360, which posits that the last gen's fanbase was less digital and has 6 time current gen numbers, hence more odds of selling over 1 million units...

Cut the crap already. We're not buying your bull...

In under 2 months on one system?

You can't make an assumption and then run with it like it's a fact. I think it's very possible that the 360 version sold almost a third of that 1M+.

800k XB1

300k 360

?

If it is those figures, it's still nothing to get excited about but Rise of the Tomb Raider didn't flop as hard as we all first thought. (All of us including the Xbox fans)

Amazing result

Its really not.... but its not as bad as people thought it would be.

The last Tombraider the reboot, people are saying sold over 3.4 million units in 3 weeks time.

This tomb raider, people are saying it sold 1m+ in about 2months time.

Its like 1/7th of the last games sales, if you facotor in time it was done in.

During the holiday season when its sales will be the highest.

Sales dropping that much... you cant really justify calling "amazing result".

Since you're talking about Tomb Raider you should change the title. Tomb Raider sure isn't an Xbox first party game.

Said that it's Tomb Raider. It was supposed to sell at least that. What was surprising was the quite weak launch.

I don't know where you buy your apples but.... Find somewhere else to buy them from now on.
