If Nintendo is aiming to sell their handheld and console models separately with a unified library, then I'd suggest that they use the handheld as their 'budget' option and a strong console as their 'premium' option. That way, people who want to use Nintendo hardware as their secondary platform get their wish and others that want to use Nintendo hardware as their beefy primary console get their wish as well.
