I mean you do realize 1080p60fps simply depends on the graphics of the game. Any game can reach that in the modern age but if you want it to look pretty, eventually it might not hit those specs if that graphics become too good.

I'd love to find out what kind of drugs those reviewers are on to call MK8 the best looking game of this generation. --- If Nintendo still has two brain cells to smash they're trying to make a console that is cheaper than the PS4 and X1. To do that they will have to make concessions in terms of performance, especially if they're still moist over the concept of making home consoles with low power consumption. So it makes no sense to aim for the benchmarks that PS4 and X1 set. Aim a little lower than that, save some money, and give developers more resources to make better looking game rather than worrying about meeting an arbitrary resolution standard set by Nintendo. |
"It's also an audiovisual wonder: the most beautiful game of the new hardware generation to date, a game that lights up your synapses as it laughs off the Wii U's horsepower deficit in a riot of colour, brilliant animation and blistering performance; a game that evokes the dazzling, long-lost wow factor of the arcade."

Game in motion and live looks much better than it does on screenshots, on screenshots looks bad. Game definitely isn't technical marvel, but even with lack of AA looks beautiful, and thats why Eurogamer said that is most beautiful game of the new hardware generation to date (look date of article).
Nintendo probably aiming price of console around $250-300, whit that price point they can relase hardware at end of year that will be at least on power with X1, enouf power for 1080p/60Fps Nintendo games. It makes very sense if they want console that will be more attractive to third parties, similar architecture and power means easy and fast PS4/X1 ports for NX, and if you want hardware for yours 1080p/60fps games.
Like I wrote, 720p/60fps Wii U Nintendo games are beautiful, there is no sense to keep making 720p/60fps games if you have much stronger hardware.

Well I guess the eurogamer team are on hard drugs or completely forgot about the existance of PCs.

You make it sound like nintendo games have lesser graphics? Doesn't matter, a console releasing for $299 next year can do better graphics than ps4 at 1080p 60fps.

Those are some assumptions.

Of Course not, just they usually using art styles for their game that doesn't requires strong hardware in order to look beautiful. Imagine what they will achieve with much stronger hardware than Wii U, even strong like X1.

Nintendo games are pushing the graphics of their own consoles. I can imagine what they will do with much stronger hardware but x1 or ps4 power wouldn't be much stronger.
I'm really starting to think the NX isn't what people think it is. Nintendo initially stated it isn't the successor of the Wii U or 3ds, and now we hear it again from that invester guy or whoever.... Specifically saying it would only have a limited impact on 3ds and Wii U sales.

How so? X1 is around 4x stronger than Wii U, PS4 is around 6x time stronger.

Yes, end of 2014... so, a little obsolete now, MK8 is beautiful, but no longer the most beautiful of this hardware generation.
I think that expecting too much from NX is the best way to be disappointed when it will be revealed.
