No, they need more mature games, not necessarily M rated games. M is just an arbitrary appropriateness rating. Metroid Prime is more mature in many ways than most of the CoD series. Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles X are more mature than Assassin's Creed's recent entries. Cause while those score their M ratings, their plots are simple, their themes are shallow, there's no real layers of depth. Metroid Prime is structured to appeal to more patient and thoughtful players. Xenoblade Chronicles is an elaborate allegory of the entire Gnostic mythological drama and then also touches quite tactfully on some serious issues, notably race. And of course Xenoblade Chronicles X is not only serious enough to match up to any AAA game - the world is destroyed after all and man teeters at the brink of extinction - but again touches on some serious subjects, both large and small. Not saying these are Citizen Kanes or anything, just that compared to many "Mature" rated franchises, these two are the more mature offerings. Although, speaking of Citizen Kane, that is an absolutely PERFECT example of how appropriateness ratings and actual maturity don't correlate. People need to just get over the M label. The devs should make games that delve tactfully into the issues they want and let the rating chips fall where they may.
