Forums - Gaming Discussion - Updated: Rumor: No AssCreed this year, going to Egypt for a The Witcher approach

This marks the second "leak" coming from 4Chan in less than a week, and both from Ubisoft.

I didn't belive the first one and, despite how reasonable this one looks, I don't believe this one either.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Sounds too reasonable to be true, keep in mind that we're talking about Ubisoft :v

Srsly it really makes sense but I don't buy this, AC taking place in Berlin will happen 2016, Egypt would be too cool

Next "Leak" will usher in saying that Prince of Persia will be rebooted inspired by Grand Theft Auto V and will take place during the events of Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2.

And some will like the idea.

I made a prediction yesterday that what i think they'll do this year is make an enhanced port of the Ezio-trilogy with new content that connects it to the movie, As for this as long as it feels like AC i have no issues with this, The hidden blade is a must

Even if everything else he says is right, I don't buy the no Assassin's Creed thing. Even if they have to reuse assets and completely half ass it and set it in Edinburgh or something just to shove it out, they will. Or they'll release some expansion pack thing for Syndicate. But the AC franchise will not stay dormant for a year, no freaking way.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd even buy copies for my non-gamer friends.

This is the game the studio that Desailles was working on before they fired him a second time.

The AC series showed extreme fatigue this year, despite a good entry. Unity is responsible in good part, but so are these yearly releases. I welcome it if they are stoping the yearly releases. It can only be good for them and the series.

Dunno about the new game though. I reserve judgement.

Not releasing a new game this year would do the series good. It desperately needs a break and a longer development time between new entries. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they announce new versions of the Ezio trilogy for the current gen consoles or something similar for the holiday season. I doubt Ubisoft wants to leave a year without a single Assassin's Creed release near the holidays.

It might just be someone posting their thoughts on where the game should go as a "leak" but it does sound good to me. It would get me interested in the series again.

Signature goes here!

Seems like an interesting approach, i dont know if it nseeds a rebamp since syndicate was prettty good

UPDATE: Kotaku's Jason Schreier says he has heard from insiders stuff that is in line with what was posted in 4chan. The project is code-named Empire.

Apparently AssCreed could have a bi-annual approach from now on to evade more franchise fatigue.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:
