Essentially this.

Go up to 20 gamers and ask them if they have heard about the NX and the vast majority will say no.  Most of them don't even know about the Wii U...

And most didn't know about the gamecube, or were really put off by it, and then the Wii happened.

The moral of the story (imo) is that you CANT rely on the casuals to have a suscessful console. The Wii captured people that just werent gamers with the move gimmick, as soon as the fad went away, they went away too, hence the Wii U sales.

Apart from the Wii, which (imo) was a one in a lifetime moment for Nintendo, each Nintendo Home Console have been selling less than the previous, that is the message that Nintendo have to realize.

Revealing the NX is not enough. They also have to bring to the stage tons and tons of third parties, while it is not so exciting for the show factor, it will give the gamers the message that they are hoping with the 3rd parties this time, which indeed can win the show for them.

Nintendo CANT rely on first party, they just cant.

Who's to say Nintendo hasn't realized this? And being all the talk that Nintendo went to most third parties during this years E3 with dev kits/ect is definitely a step in the right direction.

Another God of War and info on GT sports is pretty major. Perhaps the announcement of TLOU 2 and the new rockstar game (it's about time) in the PS presentation might do the trick.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Yeah, I agree that'd be pretty big. And all of it seems likely.

Not really, new hardware always trumps just about anything else for hype levels...

Well, that would probably be the only real solution. Hope the NX just doesn't generate hype. So, in a way, very true.

The solution, as with every year, is to display your product and upcoming games catalog in such a way that they generate consumer interest.  This is what companies care about the most.  They do this regardless of what their competitors are doing.

Contrary to popular forum belief, it's not a "win / lose" scenario.  Multiple companies can improve their sales potential with strong showings.  Still, though, it's not really much more than an extra advertising avenue.  "Winning" E3 in the summer means absolutely nothing if you're losing on the actual sales floor.

The question you seem to be asking, however, is something like, "can Sony and Microsoft win E3 from the perspective of a Nintendo fan who frequents online forums."  Well, no, probably not.

Real world, though?  Yeah, they can show off the next CoD and a steady stream of AAA third-party releases which will continue to move consoles.

Hahahaha. Nintendo and some of the fans are ok with them being secretive and not announce anything. I mean, just let run your imagination, but don't be dissapointed if the cheap games announced don't match your imaginary expectations.

The last time nintendo showed a new console they won right ?

To be honest nintendo next console needs to be some new insane shit if they want to compete with ps4 or even with xbox one, and if they stream some video online like they do now in every E3 ... yea , nothing to worry about.

Way to kill the hype...

E32012 Wii U was one of the worst ever.

If Nintendo comes out at E3 and announces the NX with a true 3D Mario Sequel, Zelda Wii U Port, and a new Metroid Game it'll blow everyone's mind. Microsoft's E3 format the past two years has been perfect, with all of the nonstop game talk and Sony's was great last year with all of the surprise announcements. I wish Sony would work on their presentation more and I expect their big announcement this year will be whatever game Sony Bend is working on and maybe a new God of War.

Basically, another Wii unveiling. And people say that all of those sales are because Wii Sports while I have always said that part of the success of the Wii (a small one, but still important) was the great library announced. Galaxy + Twilight Princess + Prime 3.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

2016 seems like another PS4 year to me. If Ninty wants to compete, they may as well start doing real conferences for a change. And honestly...NX is hyped really? In VGC yeah probably, now most people out there are not aware of what a NX even means...

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Yes bigger in terms of E3 hype as that's what we're talking about here, the hype and social media engagement for Shenmue 3 at E3 was bonkers. Do you really thing LoZ E3 will out do hundreds of reaction videos of people losing their shit? There's a 4 hour reaction compilation on YouTube.

Instead of making a thread with a question to seek an answer you made a thread with your answer already decided.

Well, I certainly can't base an answer off of a game that revealed last year. Lol. Even if we were to believe Shemnue 3 was a bigger announcement it's already been done.

You obviously completely lost the point.

You think LoZ is going to be bigger at E3 than a Crash reveal. LoZ has already been announced, and it's reasonable to believe Crash is a bigger IP than Shenmue and the pop for Shenmue was colossal, bigger than LoZ reveal in 2014.

Again you started this thread already knowing what you wanted to hear.

I don't know, NX Reveal and Zelda U reveal...kinda HARD to beat. We've seen new Nintendo hardware reveals, and we've seen new Zelda reveals...seldom have we seen them in the same time span of a couple of days. And to my knowledge, these are full reveals are they not? If we get a new 3D Mario trailer along with the NX reveal...they just win.

I've seen NX obsession all over gaming sites and especially youtube. Look at all the NX speculation videos on there! And is anybody supposed to know what code names mean? I mean, Tatsumi Kimishima doesn't even know. When we get a name, more people will pay attention.

And only Final Fantasy fans that wew around long enough to have nostalgia for FFVII would care about FFVIIR. FFVII Remake was no big deal, amirite.

E3 is all about the bombs. People expect both Zelda and NX at E3, so it isn't surprising. Even though it's exciting to get more of both, people know that they will be there.

Do you think Crash right now is as big as Final Fantasy, or is Crach a dead series waiting to be resurrected?

Does Crash have a game that is as highly regarded as Final Fantasy VII?

When you answer these questions you will have your answer.

Crash, is a Hight Beloved Franchise, Final Fantasy  7,  Make the Genre, and also sold over 10 Millions of Units on Playstation 1, Crash Bandicoot, also is a Good and Beloved Franchise, with the Main Games (when were with Naughty Dog) sold more than 7 Millions of Units Each (Were 3 games), Crash, have Enought Fans for the Remake be a Sucess, not too big as Final Fantasy 7, but Bigger Enought to sell Much More than Halo.
