Forums - Nintendo - Let's predict lifetime sales of Wii U games launching this year!

How many units of Pokken Tournament will be sold lifetime?

under 1 million 27 20.93%

1-1.5 million 37 28.68%

1.5-2 million 30 23.26%

2-2.5 million 13 10.08%

2.5-3 million 6 4.65%

over 3 million 16 12.40%

Total:129

Not much since the NX will be unveiled this year. Tough luck.

Very hard to tell since we don't know when the NX will launch or what it will be... this can/will impact the sales of those games (since some of them need legs to sell well). Anyway, let's try it:

1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD - 2m

2. Pokken Tournament - 1.5m (this one is hard to predict!)

3. Star Fox Zero - 1.2m

4. The Legend of Zelda Wii U - 4m if it's exclusive, 2.5-3m if it's multiplat

5. Genei Ibun Roku #FE - 600k

6. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games - 1m

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD - 1,100,000 (it's coming rather soon and Wii U owners are hungry for Zelda)
Pokken Tournament - 1.3 million.(Pokemon console games don't generally do anywhere near as well as the main games)
Star Fox Zero - 750,000 (Star Fox never sells extremely well, even if it looks decent)
The Legend of Zelda Wii U - 1,000,000 (Assuming a November release and co-current release on NX, it's legs are going to be broken baaad.)
Genei Ibun Roku #FE 650,000 (I really like how it looks, but it is a niche game.)
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games 850,000 (It's a cash-cow, but a profitable one.)

Yep, it's already been rumored that devs have already had their hands on the NX already. Much like the PS4 and One not much soon after their consoles were unveiled. I doubt nintendo will even give these games the chance to hit the ground running. I predict NX is going to launch with the new Zelda and the Wii U version will be the dumbed down port. This is probably why the game was pushed back.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD - 0.6m (Not significant upgrade/TP already playable on WiiU/Overshadowed by ZeldaU)

2. Pokken Tournament - 0.8m (Barebones compared to other fighters/Wii U lacks the installbase for a Pokemon in the name game to sell 1m by default)

3. Star Fox Zero - 0.6m (Little ambition, taking almost everything from SF64, yet less features than SF64/Franchise's lack of relevance/Poor reception/Super niche genre)

4. The Legend of Zelda Wii U - 4m (2.5m if not Wii U exclusive)

5. Genei Ibun Roku #FE - 0.4m (I still don't get why FE is even involved in this game/Super niche)

6. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games - 0.6m (I wish it would sell nothing, but alas it's name is too strong)

Around the Network

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD: 1.4 million

2. Pokken Tournament: 2.6 million (I've seen predictions, and my original was garbage for this one).

3. Star Fox Zero: 1.5 million

4. The Legend of Zelda Wii U: 4-5 million

5. Genei Ibun Roku #FE: 0.2 million

6. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games: 0.5 million

This is all coming from my ass. Not really big into Wii U, so I'm probably not the best at predicting how well these games will sell.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
