oh, and e3 sucked last year. it was all talk from everyone.

nintendo showed kart (big surprise.... right) and played a ton of youtube videos about how the wii was for everyone. wii fit was the only show stealer.

ps3 announced a ton of great games.... that wouldn't be out for at least a year.

360 actually stepped up the best. they delivered full force last fall. even still, their e3 presence was not note worthy. (more shooters.... yay?).

First-Try to make concise sentences instead of that run on mess if you're trying to make a point.

Second-If you think Sony is going to "win" E3 this year by showing the same couple of games they've shown at E3 05, E3 06 and E3 07 you are sadly mistaken. Sony had a strong victory last year by announcing Home and shutting up every critic of Killzone 2's infamous E3 CG test by showing amazing in game footage almost on par with that video. If they don't have big newness to announce, this E3 will be a dud for them.

On topic-I've got a good feeling Nintendo has this one in the bag. It's already a guarantee from Reggie that a major game announcement is coming at E3, and I venture it will not be the only surprise Nintendo has up their sleeves. It will also be a nice time to bring Animal Crossing and Wii Music into the limelight for a huge unveiling like Wii Music got in 06. It will be a good time to shine some minor attention on Mario Baseball and Disaster: Day of Crisis. I have a suspision Wii Music will be a major highlight of the show and have some peripheral gimmick to go along with it possibly as a pack in.

^^ i think people are playing up this "major announcemnet" too much. i mean, has nintendo ever not had a major e3 announcement? it's not like a ground breaking statement or anything. also, just cause sony and ms haven't come out with the same statement doesn't mean they would have major announcements of their own.

Ah, you have mentioned 3 important things, and let me say, they, besides the possibility of GoW3, are I think are the possible newsworthy things Sony has up its sleeve.

A. Coming out of Home.

B. Twisted Metal 6

C. Team ICO

Now, you said some other things, but let me reitterate, I don't mean "who has the best press conference" I think we can all agree that Nintendo via Reggie will probably have the best press conference if the past is any indication, its not like he doesn't have a lot of bragging to do anyway, lol.

I'm talking about from a media perspective on the street.

Which systems "new" games will be talked about the most.

If "the bluray won" is a "newsworthy" article to come out of E3 then we are gonna have one sucky E3 this year.

I'm talking only "big newsworthy announcments" here, not bragging about games that we've know about for 3 or 4 years, or games that were already released, that will have nothing at all to do with who wins E3, and will likely be relegated to footnotes in the press conferences and demo booths that will not see a whole lot of press buzzing about.

Again, read my OP, the "major announcments" I assume will be coming mostly from third parties like Factor-5, Square-Enix, Capcom, EA, Activision, and go read the whole OP, I made a list and everything for the reasons why I believe these announcments will be made, as well as an announcment or two from Nintendo. We're likely to get a whole years worth of Ninty news and new game info, on top of the 3rd party stuff.

I've never not known as much about what Nintendo is working on as I don't know what they are working on right now.

Intelligent Systems FEDS? Retro, no clue? Any other clues on what Nintendo first and second party devs(and friends Suda on FF4) are working on?

I'm sorry but I laughed my ass off considering that this is coming from someone who's avatar and sig was completely taken over by SSB Brawl. It's like you can't allow yourself to fully enjoy Nintendo, you have to counter the extreme awesomeness of Brawl with the extreme bullshit in posts like that. You're almost as bipolar as leo-j.

I don't think big N. is set to win, but has a good chance. Not a new Zelda, or Kid Icarus makes them win. In matter of news we all know it is coming sometime. A new "Wii" game ala Wii Fit nobody knows about right know will help (Not Wii Music). A new IP will help, but something that will help big N. the most is if they "announce" aka show more third party support. Last year was "realtivly" lame, with all those YouTube Videos. They filled the gab for not so much news.

I have the feeling this year will be different. This year it will be about games, games and again games. And if there are enough Blockbuster third party games, big N. will win, even if Sony announce a 100$ price drop ;)

I believe we may see more balance board support at E3. We have all speculated at the possibilities the peripheral affords. And although support for it very much depends on the success of Wii Fit, I think developers will reveal new games to unleash its potential. Perhaps its too early at this stage to hope that those big releases hinted at by Nintendo will utilise this hardware, nevertheless, I think we can expect support for it in the form of Wiiware at the very least.
