Why should it be a better situation if tomb raider becomes a frozen IP?

What would garantee that it would sell well just being a sony exclusive?Because sony fanboys would buy it because is exclusive? Not all games Sony touches goes gold.See the order as a clear example.People mistake Sony success with the PS4 as a hardware, and already assume that all of its exclusives will fibd massive success just being exclusive. If bloodborne were multiplat, it would likely sell much more than it did now.But I digress.

What i mean is that when Rise comes next year, most of the people that were going to buy the game at launch, will buy the game regardless of the mess that Square did with this deal.Being multiplat will maximize its sales, wether you like it or not

Developed by Naughty Dog? A special participation of Nathan Drake? PS4's userbase? Ummm it could.

Next Year?

@ Full Price? DLCless Version? PS4 Games to compete with? While TR for PC/XB1/X360 versions already $10 Like hell no.

Who says it needs to be multiplatform to succeed? With less distractions, people will get done faster and less budget constraints.

Not, really, no.

Sony will be making sure Uncharted is still a living franchise after ND is done with it. Crystal Dynamics is looking like their best option. With the screw up that happened with TR. Heads are rolling. Another flop and they're off the chopping block.

You're absolutelly right. Call me in 40 years.

I'm usually almost always right.  I don't need sarcasm to feel good btw.

Why would you want them to keep Uncharted going after ND has completed the series that they wanted to make? Personally, I don't want Uncharted to turn into Halo.

Also, why would you want Sony to spend the money on a franchise in a genre that they already do better?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I just think Square Enix isn't a good Publisher for Crystal Dynamics. what with there crazy ass sales expectations and foolish handling of ROTR.

Let a responsible publisher have them. That being said which responsible 3rd party publishers are left?

The only 3rd party developers that currently have enough cash on hand to buy CD are Ubisoft, Activision/Blizzard, EA, and Rockstar/Take 2.  Don't think any of them would be interested in either CD or the Tomb Raider IP.

I hope not. Tombraider has always been a multiplatform and for me the franchise need to stay available for the pc

And who says that it needs to be exclusive to succeed?Estatiscally speaking, multiplatform has a better chance of succeeding.Nathan Drake appearance surely would give a boost to ps4 version of the game, but would it compesate for the millions of the other versions? Not even close.Lara fans would buy the game regardless of uncharted in it, and lara fans are not few.Just because it sells better in PS4 it dosnt mean that other versions are useless, especially when they sell millions. You are basically asking for Crystal Dynamics to gain less money making Tomb Raider exclusive because of no reason, other than"PS4 is popular now so everything should be just in it".Monopoly is not a good thing for costumers. You know that right?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Nope. Sony should spend money developing new IPs such as Horizon. Tomb Raider is Multiplat anyway. There is no need to make it an exclusive game.

Crystal Dynamics might be an interesting developer for Sony to acquire, though I doubt Square Enix would sell them. Still, CD is clearly a talented development team.
As far as Tomb Raider goes, I don't really see the point in buying it. Sony already has their own similar franchise and again, I very much doubt Square would even consider selling Tomb Raider.

I don't think Sony needs Tomb Raider or Crystal. Can't harp one company while praising the other. TR is a multi platform series.
