Forums - Sony - Sony: PS4 to see an "Unprecedented Rush" of big games in 2016 and VR release

Slightly off topic but Reading this makes me think Nintendo is not launching nx next year. They would be crazy going up against all this from Sony.

I've been thinking something similar everytime I look at what PS4 games are releasing and that 2016 would be too early for a nintendo console. It's a bad launch window.

Unless all of these games launch in November, I think they'll be ok.

Yes, Nintendo is in a really tough spot in 2016 for home consoles. But will it be better in 2017? The PS4 and One will have even more games out already, and will still get big new releases that year. Why choose a NX in 2017 with just a few games out against a PS4/One with hundreds of games out already? (and some of them really cheap then?) And in 2017, Sony and MS will probably be able to do another pricecut...

So because they don't want to ate by alligators so they jump into a chumed lake full of bull sharks? The hype for a console increases when there's alot of games releasing for it, especially when some of those games are highly anticipated. If you were a dev, would you release a game when a halo or any other big game is released? 2016 could be when the PS4 peaks in sales. I bet NX will be drowned out. 2017 could be a quieter year and overall much easier to grab the attention of consumers. Does nintendo have enough good launch games? How many 3rd party devs are gonna have their game ready for it? More time would help NX have a few more games to launch with.

Only looking forward to one PS4 title next year, hopefully they announce more.

But are they big or LittleBig? Shu must be having Dreams. He shouldn't yet Rush into the Horizon or risk being stuck in No Man's Sky where The Last Guardian is, Deep Down in Uncharted territory. As for Virtual Reality, just Let it Die, Shu.

That's what all those delays get you....

Even with them delaying them

We get 10 gb of update and day one patches

This is Sony, not Ubisoft.

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

Where are these big updates for Sony games?
9 out of 10 people don't even realise how the patches work
It shows a big number but that's all the patch data which does not need to be redownloaded in its entirety, when your download starts it's already at an high percentage
So for example a Driveclub update may show as 3gb for instance but you're only downloading like 200mb or less, because your download starts at 2.8gb.

Off-topic, but here is a link relevant to the sub-discussion regarding patch sizes on PS4.

Note the games with the biggest updates are online titles or otherwise have quite a bit added in post-launch.
