Forums - Gaming - Xbox One: Where Are The Cons?

Cons: It's not a PS4

But really,
*weaker multiplats
* Pads that need batteries
* Much weaker first and second party support
* Less players online means smaller games lose their online communities quicker than PS4
* All your friends will be playing online on a different platform

Most games that are mostly online loose their appeal pretty quickly anyway.  Plus some older games can get a decent boost when they go on sale digitally.

I personally prefer the Xbox by far. So much so that my ps4 has barely been touched in recent months. But a thread like this is just an invitation for people to come shit on the console and many of them have never or would never even consider it a viable option in the first place.

With all due respect, you too also don't miss a chance to "shit" on the PS4, telling people that yours is collecting dust most times such a thread comes up...

People are not doing anything different. They're voicing their preference, same as you.

But lets not kid ourselves here. Jega has been doing these bait threads for as long as I can remember him on these forums.

1: Too big for my entertainment cabinet.
2: No jrpgs.
3: Huge reliance on forza and halo every year with little else.
4: Very little Japan support. Games like attack on Titan, NI-OH, j-stars, ace combat 7, street fighter 5, and many more will never be on Xbox one.
5: It's not a PlayStation.

Have you previously owned any Playstation console? Because they go well beyond the 8 years.

For example, the Ps3 this year had almost the same exclusives as the X1, 9 years after its release.

I must have missed something then since besides Tales of Zestiria the PS3 didn't really have any exclusives (Yakuza 5 doesn't count since it was released in Japan in 2012 already).

Yakuza 5 certainly counts, since it wasn't released in the West until 2015. Then there are games like The Awakened Fate Ultimatum, Under Night In-Birth (released in Japan last year, everywhere else this year), and Atlier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea (same situation as Under Night and Awakened Fate).

Currently PS3 exclusives that saw complete releases in 2015 (one will receive a PC release next year, while the other will be on the Vita in 2016).

Well I still own and use my PS3 and I never heard of any of those games so they must be super niche.  To me the only major exclusive the PS3 got this year was Tales of Zestiria.  Yakuza 5 doesn't count since it was released in 2012 in Japan and if you really wanted to play the game badly you could have imported a copy a long time ago.

My personal con would be that everything I would want from it can be done better on another Hardware.

I have no reason to ever buy it.

It doesn't count because you don't want to count it, and expect everyone to understand japanese.

Legit.

Niche/Japanese games still count as exclusives regardless of whether they appeal to you. Yakuza 5 was previously only in Japanese, so importing it would have been pointless for anyone who couldn't speak/read Japanese. It was only recently localized into English.

So what I am hearing is "X1 is perfect and the best console and I know you want to tell me why I'm wrong"

...You know the funny thing is, I know your playin' me....and your right. >=)

X1 cons:

Most games are on PS4, but doesn't run them quite as well on X1

Less retail exclusives

Less indie exclusives

Less powerful version of a PS4 aside from a few apps hardly anyone uses in X1

Hardly any Japanese titles

Less exclusive content in games

No shareplay

No plans for VR gaming

Elite controller is overpriced

It has identify issues

It dooms known franchises with timed exclusive release (RotTR)

It dooms good new IPs that try to launch on it exclusively (Sunset Overdrive)

Long droughts with no exclusive games till holiday so far

So yeah...anyone care to join in? XD

"Niche" or not, they're games available exclusively on the platform. And no matter how many times you sing that song about Yakuza 5, it doesn't change anything. The game was released, for the first time, in several other regions, within 2015, only on PlayStation 3.

Well even if you include Yakuza 5 that is still only two major exclusives.

So the goalpost has now moved to "major" exclusives?

expect another change when we show that only 2 new games were released exclusively for X1 this year.
