For myself - it came down to this:

My XBox360 account was hacked - and a couple hundred dollars of 'FIFA' crap was bought and sold before I found out (within hours). I say hacked because the password was changed without actually logging into my account or notification that there was a password change. This happened to quite a few people - and I kept tabs on the issue for around 6 *months* until a nice investigation by Kotaku found a hacker that explained how it was done - something about a password screen that didn't have a lockout - and a bot could run well over a million passwords an hour at your account.

Shortly after that - Microsoft patched that screen so that you got like 5 attempts. The easy hacking stopped.

I will note that I got my money back - after arguing with Microsoft about it. Two things made me never want to go back to Microsoft ever again however. First that they denied it was a hack. Sony got hacked and admitted it, Microsoft covered it up. Second was that when I asked for my card information to be removed from their system - they wouldn't do it. I had to cancel that card and get another just so that if my account was compromised again nothing could be charged on it. I found that to be unacceptable - if they had just taken my card out of the account I would have been fine (and only used prepaid for anything going forward) - but I have a real issue with the idea that they keep your credit card information and refuse to remove it.

The credit card thing is why I won't ever go back to XBox - I refuse to use 'live' or a microsoft account on my computer (at least anything that offers payment). I don't trust them with my financial information.

The cons are that the ps4 is better

missing several games that are exclusive to ps4, japanese games in general, kojima not there, underpowered hardware compared to the competition, a history of terrible 1st party support past the first few years, negative consumer perception since the reveal, bulky machine, awful bumper buttons on the controller, duracell powered controllers, no VR...

did i just fall into a trap on this one?

Absolutely nothing wrong with the bumpers.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

The Xbox One has no cons if you dont care about 1080p and 60fps. In my case i dont care at all, i bought my consoles to play games with my friends and in some cases, alone, so frame rate or definition does not bother me.

Xbox One is Broken Compared to Xbox 360 for the Littlest Reasons
Next gen gaming was supposed to be revolutionary so why is it when players pick up their Xbox One controllers they have a longing for 360 goodness. The Xbox One is broken compared to what the 360 was or at least it’s a console that has taken a step back rather than forward. (Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Have been posted already.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

The biggest con is the lack of exclusive games and most of the games they have they do not own except the same 4 franchises, which are not appealing.

What more cons does anyone need?

The Xbox brand is boring, generic and comes off as a corporate product rather than a fun gaming system.

The whole package is the opposite of what people want in gaming and their policies are also anti consumer.

The UI is unappealing as Windows 10 is crap, which is why I went back to WIndows 7 on my PC, so who wants it for a gaming console?

The controller still uses disposable batteries in 2015 as mentioned and the controller design overall.

Overrated and useless features including the fake BC that people keep raving about, but it's really just certain Xbox360 games compatible with the XboxOne and only used to promote the console and get positive headlines in articles.

The console is too big and clunky, causing a cluttering feeling on your entertainment setup.

I still hear about the system messing up discs, which has not been fixed yet.

No games all year until the fall and M just keeps wasting money on timed exclusives and games that they do not own.

The vision that MS has for gaming is not a positive or exciting plan. They lack the creativity that their competitor has built with its brand.

Need I say more?

how exactly is it better?

I'm starting to suspect these posts are being made to stealth troll the Xbox One now.
