Nintendo with Mario could be the masters at doing this. They take Mario and put them into different genres of videogames.

But what about other gaming IPs out there? Are there any games that you think could have a spin-off that takes the characters, world, etc, and change it into a different genre like racing, fighting, sandbox, RPG, adventure, cinematic, etc. game?

What games come to your mind?

Fire Emblem in Mousou style. (Dynasty Warriors)
Since it deals with a class system, Koei could make skill sets for every class and then every class would have alternate costumes for each character that has that class, so you could use literally any character you want.

Example - Sniper class - alt costumes - Shinon, Rolf, Leonardo, Virion... Etc.

It would be absolutely perfect.

CoD in a TPS. this was going to happen, and if it weren't for Activisions feud with infinity ward it would have been a reality.

TLoU in a pure survival game with the style of Dont Starve. a up down camera (i think thats what its called). but with settlements, other NPC's to interact with, and more enemy types. could be epic.

1) I remember that. That could have shaken the COD formula a bit.

2) Top-down view, if I'm not mistaken.

A Duck Hunt game done in the style of Banjo-Kazooie would be pretty cool, specially since Banjo is not going to appear on a Nintendo system anytime soon.

These atleast make sense.

My favorite of these, is the Medievil hack n slash (diablo 2 clone, yes plz) & the Pokemon MMORPG.

Kirby/Ori going 3D, like mario did is just the next step. Its about time for that to happend.

I would take Resident Evil and turn it into a horror game and take away the over-the-shoulder gameplay, give it some per-rendered backgrounds and tank controls.
