It's pretty simple stuff.

Probably the 3DS, unless Nintendo announces the NX/next thing too early in 2016.

If Final Fantasy XV releases, then it will be close.

If not.. Unless 3DS declines by a large percentage, than it will be close. Although you never know..

While both will have an amazing kickass lineup. I have to give it to the 3ds. PS4 will still sell very well though.

3DS went from 3m+ to 2.2m+.
PS4 went from ~1m to ~1.3m.

Current trends still put 3DS ahead, but FFXV might help PS4 sell more. PS4 wins until holidays, then 3DS might beat it in the last few weeks.

3DS has sold in Japan around 2.2 this year and PS4 around 1.3 million. 3DS is saturated and declining, PS4 is growing and expanding. Next year both systems should sell very similar in Japan. There's no point doing a comparison with WiiU or Vita because is obvious which one will sell more. He is asking the question with these two systems because it will be a fight and for fun.
