Forums - Nintendo - IGN Previews Okami PLUS Capcom exec says Wii is where it's at.

270k, wow that's pretty bad. Yet people try to so that Okami didn't bomb, and games like Zack and Wiki and NMH did.

If I could honestly believe Capcom was going to give the Wii the full brunt of its support I would be thrilled, but all too often Capcom says one thing then does another. Eitherway, I'm thrilled about this game.

I'd rather they not make an Okami2 if Clover is no longer around. Why do I get this sinking feeling in my gut that they're trying to hype that the Wii will essentially be getting all the novelty games and scraps while the big name franchises go elsewhere.

This time around, Capcom's actions speak louder than their words. They have several exclusives announced or published for the Wii, while the only exclusive they've announced for either of the HD systems is Dead Rising for the 360, all the way back in 2006.  That indicates that they're putting a LOT of faith in the Wii as a platform, and thus far they've been vindicated with excellent sales.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

sounds awesome..now wonders if i should get this or mario kart wii first....im thinkin okami first because i held out on gettin the ps2 version when i heard a wii version was announced.. and more original titles comin later in the year from capcom..im all on board

We could get an Okami franchise on the Wii if this does well? Yes, please!

The two things I hated about the PS2 version (long dialogues and analog brush controls) have been fixed. I can't wait for this, especially since I didn't get very far in the original.

Very nice. I'm considering buying this game. I'll probably rent it first.

Man, that still looks like no rice paper texture being implemented in the screen shots - old build?

Otherwise I have to agree with Mnementh. This is one of the few games that would have made me buy a PS2. I am really looking forward to the game.

Yes, it's still an old build.  Capcom confirmed on their website that the RAD guys had added the Rice Paper effect after the game site build had been sent out.

Wow, nice. Wii is finally getting the respect it deserves.

Anyone get the feeling that E3 is gonna be all Wii from Nintendo and 3rd parties?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

RICE PAPER MADE IT IN! I TOLD YA'S ALL IT WOULD!

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

Looks like another game will be making it into my Wii game collection... Though it is rather annoying to have bought the PS2 version first when the superior Wii version was only a year or two off.  To be fair, I had no idea back then that this version was coming (how could I?), but still.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Okami was pretty sweet on the PS2. While I'm not hyped up at all about using the Wii-mote to draw or motion controls in general (though I usually have little hype for the Wii-mote anyway), I hope that Okami sells more.

Issun was a pretty funny character and I found a general 'cuteness' in many areas of this game (.... coming from me... a guy..????). Lastly, I thought the English localization was pretty good too and I only noticed a few weird lines.
