In retrospect, I liked his character: He's a weakling and they've purposely designed him to be one. But in the end, the decision he took made him truly evil. They clearly designed him to grow more and more badass over the trilogy and as I liked the movie I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. He has room to grow as a character and a villain.

God, I can't believe Episode VIII is scheduled for May 2017... it's way too long :/

It's a fanfiction of the Harry Potter franchise where all the characters are emo and goth and completely out of character.

I am looking forward to see how they develop his character as well. I think they are going with a parallelism between Rey and Ren, both of them at early stages of training and eventually having their showdown to taste their powers and what their respective masters showed them.

I'll bookmark that video and try to watch it in the future. The description compares it to Plan 9 From Out of Space so I want to check it out for the lolz

I was under the impression his act was bland but because I saw the film from a cam recording and the facial expressions didn't look the best, I think there's a chance it was me who got the idea for the poor quality of the recording.
