Mario Maker is amazing, it's one of the main reasons I got a Wii U XD but is it really a game? It's something I've been thinking about for a while. I mean, it's more of a easy-to-use developer kit with Mario assets than a game itself. Kinda like RPG Maker. Just something that's been on my mind lately XD

I'd say it's very much a game. You can spend dozens of hours just playing levels and I'd even argue that they've made creating a level so intuitive that even that part feels like a game.

I suppose so. Play testing is a lot less of a hassle than in RPG Maker (they should take some notes from SMM XD). But yeah, I'll agree. Definitely my Wii U game of 2015. It also makes the best use of the Gamepad imo, using it as a really great tool than a second screen of the same thing you see on the TV.

So tempted to get SMM - but I wanna get NSMBU before I get Mario Maker.

Both are great games. I don't think any particular order would hurt your enjoyment of the other. NSMBU isn't revelatory or anything, but it's pretty solid platforming. Do you have "Tropical Freeze"?
