Why not make a chart that shows how much electricity they use in Wh? People don't pay the same price for their electricity...

I guess the chart still works for comparative purposes, but not so much so if you want to find out how much it costs for you... Here we have pretty cheap electricity (0.04£ per kWh).

Norway has cheap energy? I thought it was expensive.

Energy here ain't cheap, but consoles don't do anything to stick out like a sore thumb unlike high end gaming rigs...

Good to see the ps4 has barely increased over the ps3. They're all reasonable numbers though for any of the console. What kind of numbers do high end PC's do?

Up to three times what the PS4 did...

Yeah, electricity is one of the few things that's cheap in Norway. We have a lot of waterfalls and stuff, so we have tons of cheap hydro-power.

Sorry, fuel prices threw me off...

Wow, the WiiU is the only planet friendly home console this gen. How did they manage that low consumption? XD

By using so little energy that if you try to connect an external drive to it, it won't work xD

Wii U consumes just the necesary to function and to power up some little devices (like the Pro Controller).

I would like to know what PC is used in the graph persumable a <£100 with no GPU installed.

Presumably an office PC, running either on the iGP or on an entry level OEM discrete graphics card à la Radeon R5 220 (18W TDP)

wow the wii u takes a lot less watt than xbox 360 and ps3 maybe its because of the hard-drive`?

A Hard Drive doesn't consume anywhere close to 50Wh, modern ones come up to one tenth of this consumption. No, the main rason is the hardware: The Espresso CPU consumes a lot less than Cell/Xenon due to small size and low clock rates, while Latte's more modern architecture (Evergreen 2) also means it can reach it's higher processing power while consuming less than Xenos/RSX. The Hard Drive, like I said, while adding to this of course, doesn't change the balance all that much

By being 10x weaker.  So yeah it uses 1/3rd the energy.... yay?

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

It's because PS360 is 10 year old tech lol.   What a mystery!

140 watts isn't much. Ofcourse there's the tv and sound as well. With a surround system and big tv it's more like 600 watts together.

Last month we used 1059 kwh, that can run a ps4 game for 315 days straight. 140 watts is a pretty small amount compared to everything else.

Yeah these figures don't sit quite right with me. Either that, or British Gas are ridiculously expensive!

You can get roughly 7 hours play per KW on the PS4.

The average price in the UK currently is about 15pence per KW. The maths of this then is that 42 hours of gameplay costs around about 90pence. So really, you are looking at almost 45 hours for the pound.

Like I said, British Gas must be robbing everyone with their prices!

PREDICTIONS FOR END OF 2015: (Made Jan 1st 2015)

PS4 - 34M - XB1 - 21m - WII U -12M

Also add on the monthly subscriptions PS4/XBone owners are getting milked monthly to enjoy a nice game. I guess Nintendo isn't so bad after all.
