theres 1 eb games and 1 gamestop in the mall near where i live and i live in PA, why do they have different names in the US if there the same company? (they are the same company right?)

Actually when I'm at college there's a EB Games in a mall near me, and then right across I80 there's a strip mall that has a GameSpot.
