I see it all the time here in Australia, every EB Games I have been to has at least one copy.

NTSC different than Australia though, obviously.

plenty of old games are extremely rare in certain region formats and not rare in others

I know that, I just thought it was funny. It was like that with a lot of Wii games too; the ones I always heard people calling rare online were everywhere down here.

Usually it takes two things to make a game very expensive. Rarity AND desirability. This game will not be desired so, who knows.

Another great reson for me to move to Australia :D

it doesn't take both rarity and desirability for collecting if the game is rare enough. The most expensive games out there are not even very good. All they have to do is ship more copies and you're screwed though because the demand isn't really high. If you think about the shipment must be extremely small for a game like devil's third to cost over $100.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Why won't this game be desirable? Because it's terrible and not fun to play?

Stadium events on the NES, from what I hear, isn't even fun to play, yet people pay thousands of dollars to own that game.

I think Devil's Third will desirable for people getting a full Wii U collection.

Lets see

Snowboard Kids 2 N64 PAL AUS - 5000 copies only

Mint CIB probably 100 left? they go for like 800-1000.

I can see some Wii U games getting to that status in 10-15 years time.

Man, I wish I bought a copy if I knew it was going to become so rare, haha....

Yeah, no one really wants to play Stadium Events but there's rougly 200 copies in the wild, if that. Devils Third had a much bigger print run.
