Dream team was ruined by the tutorial system and from what i read this seems to be the same. Its a shame. Both super stars and bowsers inside story were great.

From what I read tutorials can be skipped this time around, but there's a lack of original characters and locations..

Well that's something. Honestly, dream team was awful. I would have probably rated it 8/10 if it wasn't for the constant intrusive and gameplay distroying tutorials. As it is Dream Team is the worst 40 hour game I've ever force myself play all the way through. Superstar remains one of my favorite jrpgs though. And bowsers inside story is great too.

I replayed some of Superstar after being disgusted with what the tutorials did to dream team to see if I was missremebering and if it was always that bad. But Superstars writing was clearly top notch and genuinly funny and the game never let the tutorials drag on and get in the way.

No. Stop buying them so they make a new Super Mario RPG.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of Dream Team either. I will probably give Paper Jam a try because it fixes those issues, but I'm still feeling a bit meh about the lack of original characters and locations. Hopefully they're doing this just to save time and the next game will be different.

Poll says yes, but most people in comments say no...

Still torn

I think I'll pick it up at like $20 as a Nintendo Selects or something...

I'm undecided as well. I like Mario and Luigi games, but every time I buy a game with Paper Mario in it that isn't an actual Paper Mario game, it feels like I'm telling Nintendo that I'm okay with this.

Why does everyone hate the "Mario and Luigi" series?

They're very creative, and they last for a very long time. While the tutorial is annoying in the games, I don't see why people hate the series.

Dream Team was quite a game. It looked nice, and had a lot of nice ideas put into it.

Though, Bowser's inside story was way better. Have to admit it. I'd give dream team a 7.5/10(tutorials really irritated me), and Bowser's inside story a 10/10, just for how much I loved it.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

resist temptation.

Nintendo need to make actual Paper Mario games again.

So Sticker Star did poison this game. Yep I'm not buying it then. As a fan of both series I simply cannot support the direction they're taking them.

TTYD is legitimately one of my favorite games ever, and I have to say, I have been craving a proper followup for ages now. I didn't buy the Wii thing, nor have I wasted my money on Sticker Star. That said, I may burn money on this just because it actually has Paper Mario in what seems to be a more standard Paper Mario role. Of course, I also fear this is just an easy cash in using a formula Nintendo knows will make money but will ultimately do neither series it involves enough justice.

The struggle is real for Paper Mario fans.
