It will be interesting to see what will come out of this new team, but i am doubtful it will match what Kojima can do.

How many big game development companies are there? Being a game designer for big budget games is a hard field to get into. I'm sure many people will apply. People need a way in and people will take advantage of this. Sure they can always go for inde development. There are probably quite a few people that want to show they can be as good as Kojima.

The timing is clearly deliberate. Konami act like spiteful children.

I honestly have no hope for the next Metal Gear game they'll put out. I wouldn't want to see what approach are they gonna take for the next game, whether it's a Metal Gear remake or another unneeded sequel. I know Kojima used a lot of resources to make the game the best possible, but he told the story like no one else. Whatever's coming out, I expect a massive quality drop.

After the messy split with Kojima lasting all of 2015, and knowing how toxic the online environment will be for any new Konami title now (especially a Metal Gear), you'd have to be pretty desperate to sign on to this project.

I won't buy it, that's for sure. After what they've done with Kojima, after they didn't even let him get a prize for his game, after... so many things, they don't deserve my money. I hope it will bomb, maybe then they'll go back to him trying to suck his ass.
