You know he's not only the one person. We also have Keiji Inafune prefers Western games to Japanese ones.

Who else... There's more.

Hideo Kojima is the one you need to remember

Yes, thank you! Him and also Shinji Mikami(Creator of Resident Evil).

These guys (Monolith) are very talented, I'd love to see them trying a traditional WRPG, or even an action game.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

The key is that he's making games that he likes. Where his primary influence comes from is less important.

Bless that man.

OT I hope that he follows his heart. He hasn't missed on a game yet. (although changing battle systems on Xenosaga 2 was pretty close)

Fumito Ueda is influenced by western games as well. One of his early gaming systems was an Amiga. He cited Another World as an inspiration for creating ICO and also expressed a desire to make a First Person Shooter, referring to Half-Life 2 as the example he admires (Half-Life's writer is, in turn, influenced by Ueda's works. How COOL is that?!)

Good grief, Japanese developers are sure love Wetern games/movies/tvs.

Dude! Something reminds me of awful game!! :O

Same. Takahashi has said before that he sees Monolith's purpose as making the kind of games that Nintendo EAD proper can't/won't. (Smart man; he recognizes that they need to diversify even if the upper management refuse to see it)
