Forums - Nintendo - People keep asking how Nintendo can let garbage out like Devil's Third, but then they ignore games such as Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival or Mario Tennis U

I dont see that anybody ignoring Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis, but people do realize that those games are just a small and fast games, spin offs and fillers, so relly not big deal. Also 59 and 44 not exatly same.

You know Perfect Dark was the first game , as a kid, that I pre ordered? I promise you the frame rate was that bad, but it was so much fun it was over looked by critics and gamers alike, including myself. Why are you coming in here trying to change facts....history? There is no doubt that the frame rate bogged down a lot. You ever throw something called am Nbomb? As for Devils third having higher expectations than a Nintendo game.....do you hear yourself?

I'm not changing shit. I'm saying it like it is. I bought Perfect Dark on the first day it was released. I know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying there weren't framerate issues. It just wasn't uncommon for a game like that to not have framerate issues. SOme of the most highly rated N64 games had framerate issues. The N64 hardware was also getting old at the time. That's why people didn't have a problem with it. That's why critics didn't have a problem with it even though it was mentioned in just about every review of the game at the time. Remember Turok 2? It was one of the top N64 games of 1998 and a Christmas present of mine that year. That game also suffered from framerate issues and occassionally froze when it used the N64 expansion pak. Despite all this, these games were still very much playable and performed exceptionally well for the time.

Now, when looking at Devil's Third, we're looking at something different from Perfect Dark or one of the other top rated N64 games. Those games couldn't avoid the issues they had unless they were running on more powerful hardware. With Devil's Third, it could be better because games like it have been done already on the very same hardware. So it isn't like there's a hardware limitation issue here, or at least if there is, it isn't as severe as some of the later N64 games. Also, Devil's Third comes from the same guy who helped revive the Ninja Gaiden series. so there's a good reason to initially have high expectations. Again, you're looking too much into the numbers themselves. You have to look into the context behind the numbers. You can't just compare two completely different games that have different expectations and suffer from entrely differently problems.

Finally, as for the Nbomb....um...I don't speak bullshit internet language. I don't know what that means. Call me old fashion but I prefer English.

Nintendo really is in a sorry state at the moment.

I remember a time when a major Nintendo release reviewing poorly was actually nonexistent. I mean that too. It just never use to happen.

^^ @AlfredoTurkey Except Amiibo Festival and Ultra Smash are not MAJOR releases...? They are fillers/spin-offs. If the next 3D mainline Super Mario game is below 90 and around the low 80s, then I might think about the state of Nintendo's development teams. The main big releases for this year for Nintendo are Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. So far, they've been well-received.

wiiu lacks games and Nintendo just let's poor quality come from their publishing department.

not exactly ideal but it is what it is.

ppl now know that Nintendo will let quality suffer if it means getting a game out.

No, just if it means getting a cheap filler out on a drought, those 2 games are secondary spin offs, you would never see Nintendo doing anything even similar with one of its mainline games of any of its big franchises, or any other of its big releases, never.

That is nice? I guess.

Yes that is nice, you will never see anything even close to what happened with the Order if the game is coming from Nintendo, the closer thing to something like that was Metroid Other M, and that was not a bad game, just a dissapointing Metroid. They take a lot of care for every of its big realese, and that's pretty obvious, so dont come here to say Nintendo doesnt care for quality just because a few fillers on a low year were as dissapointed as they looked, because you know thats a blantant lie, every big release this year had quality as always.

I understand Nintendo has their diehard fans and that is cool. But I said nothing in my original comment that constitutes a lie. Mario Tennis and Amiibo AC are pretty clearly examples that quality will suffer if it means getting a game out. Which is all I was saying.

After all this is a year in which we saw such poor and forgetable releases such as pokemon Shuffle, STEAM, MP10, Pokemon Rumble World, Dr Mario, Devils 3rd, AC HHD, Chibi Robo, PZ5, AC Amiibo, Mario Tennis.

But I suppose it is ok. Lets sweep these under the rug. Nothing to see here folks.

So you even include 2 free to play games in your argument? that says a lot already. And what the hell is wrong with a little digital game like Dr Mario? Please... You even count Project Zelo 5, a tecmo Koei game that people like you have been shitting about because they were not going to release it here, but now that is finally out because fans insisted to have it on the west, now is a proof that they dont care about quality just because metacritics gave it a mixed score, awesome. You are trying too hard.

Their bigs titles this year on WiiU were Splatoon, Mario Maker, Yoshi WW and XCX. And all those games were very good and very polished, to expect that every filler Nintendo puts out becomes a memorable game is simply dumb. Now compare that to the amount of  big titles of other companies that fall under expectation over and over and over again, not little games with barely any hype no, big triple AAA games with hype for years becoming mediocre as hell, thats something to worry about, no a few cheap games not being memorable, even on its lowest year Nintendo is still way above others in terms of first party line up.

Trust me, no one's letting Nintendo get away with these games. They are embarrassments, and have done great damage to the reputations of their respective series' and to Nintendo themselves. The fact that these games are basically not selling is of course suitable punishment for Nintendo, hitting them right where it hurts - in the back pocket.

And no, I'm not letting them get away with Devil's Third either. NoA didn't even want to publish it, and as I've said before, they should've just stuck to their guns on that rather than this brush it under the carpet release.

So in summary it is ok for Nintendo to allow garbage to be made because they have a few games that fall under very good, and their poor quality games are not reflective of the company in any single way because of some fine print etc etc.

I will be sure to keep that in mind for the future.

No is not ok, but that does not transform Nintendo into a company that doesnt care about quality. Of course they have released some games of intolerable quality this year, and I'm glad those few get the backlash and poor sales they have. But everything I was hyped about this year has been as good as I expected, the "dissapointments" come mostly from secondary fillers annonced months before release, thats not so bad all things consider.

People will talk with their wallets. So no worries about it. I'm almost sure the three games will bomb hard, so that'll teach Nintendo not to release rushed games to the market, and not to fund rubbish games. At least I hope so. The three games must be an embarassment to Nintendo.
