It will be patched. If you don't patch, no more online play, DLC, PS shop and uploading trophies.

This doesnt matter anymore. It will just be good for 3rd world countries.

There were some workarounds for access into PSN in the past. Basically you just have to tell the console you're on Firmware x.xx, even if you aren't. With full kernel access, you can do just that.

In a world where every game needs several patches to work right, i dont know if piracy can really be a thing

Well it probably could for single player stuff, but really for this to work safely you'd probably need to keep your system a few updates behind the norm and have no/limited availability to the psn store, no online, no monthly psn games, no stability or system updates. Also of course there is the risk of getting a ps4 blacklisted from ever being able to go online or worse again you could end up with a brick if you mess up the firmware before getting a chance to back it up (if you would even bother to make the backups, a lot don't) So yeah I see a lot of kids ending up going to try this, mess up their PS4, buy a new one, never risk it again.

The effects are VERY limited. Just look at last gen. The Xbox 360 was hacked pretty much right away while the PS3 remained safe for several years. Guess what effect that had on software sales? None. 

I also don't remember cheaters being a topic at all on 360.

It won't affect sales that much. By 2017, PS4 will be at 60-70m units sold, by then there will be enough legitimate consumers and people with PS+ that games will sell well despite the pirates. PS2 piracy didn't hurt software sales that much, and if anything, it helped hardware numbers.
