Didnt PS decimate the competition when it entred the Console market ? lucky for them console gens come and go.  Comp is rebooted.

In a world wide battle of Brands, who is bigger steam or playstation.

Not entirely and the other two are still standing as well with their own future plans that also involve ideas outside of the console market that don't involve decimating the PC platform, MS even goes far to say they don't see themselves competing with steam:

"We are not intending to compete with Steam. If anything, we want Steam to be even more successful -- they've done great things for PC gamers in terms of having a single store." - Kevin Unangst, Microsoft's senior director for PC gaming.

What are you talking about by "comp rebooted"?.

You are seriously in a whole load of denial to believe Playstation is going to smash and rule over everything, serious.

How is ms talk relevent to this. steam vs PS ? are they siding with Steam, buing it ?

Brand name recognizion will decide things.  Nothing more.

You are in denial if you think steam can win in a direct battle with PS.

Pc gaming will never die though. Console gaming will though one day.

So will PC, unless you call streaming a game that.

Not die, but replaced.  By the strongest brand in gaming, PS.

So you are saying the PC Platform has been dominating the PS1, PS2, and PS3 for years and the PS4 is the first console to ever top PC because PC gamers in Germany decided to go multiplat with PC+PS4 ;o?

I didnt know that!

The People's Republic of China would love to have a word with them!

No shit, but when PS can be accesed and played on any device in the world by pluging in a PS controller into it.

Steam is dead.

Yeah I can see that - I can see Sony killing Steam like they did again 8 years ago when PSN came out with digital titles l0l.

It's no use. The thread is full of sensationalism...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo! :(

That would be horrible as I plan to buy future Playstation and Nintendo systems D:

A full fledged streaming/rental service like PSNow would be horrible. I would rather go with what they have now n_n

Depends... if it's like "one year long subscription to play all games and play online" it might be good, especially for Sony TVs. I bought a new one and have played a few PS3 games...

It's releveant because it shows that one side has clear intentions and sees competition as a good thing for themselves to improve upon in contrast to yours where you see Sony destroying everything and ruling over all.

brand recognition doesn't decide the fate and will of everything though, otherwise the biggest brands would have dominated everything and they would only exist and yet that hasn't come to pass for well a hundred years and more.

You are an oddball that's for sure XD.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

That some people here (like basil and this other guy I can't respond to because reason) waste so much time arguing with diablos is mind-blowing for me I would have stopped after he said steam can or will die or can be replaced.

It's interesting. I like all kinds of platforms, but feel like this is the best time for PC in years. Lots of day 1 ports with gen 8 consoles, and most are good or great. I wonder if the post 9xx/3xx cards will affect this. 1440 and 4k, along with better framerate has me choosing PC for multiplats, and still enjoying console for exclusives and genres that I prefer there.

1440/4K....? Pfft! 120-144Hz/4K or nothin'!

you better make your own game that utilize your own rig , most developer only optimize games on mainstream hardware (medium to high setting )  that popular on PC or just be happy tweeking or moding the games

PC gaming will be OK but console will evolve, some company will disapear and some  will emarge, because PC will always be needed , and has a general purpose. While console gaming it subjected to individual need and  can only be use for one purpose (gaming )

All to there own. There's nothing a console can do that a PC cant do. It also houses the most games including Gems from Blizzard and Valve and its 3rd party support is insane. There's also no paywalls and BC so those choosing PS4 are obviously choosing it for the 1st alone. Would hope those 1st party games are worth it because apart from Bloodborne and acouple PS3 Remasters every other exclusive game hasn't done well on the review boards.

Just my opinion, to leave PC as its the biggest its ever been doesn't sound to smart. But who knows.

I'm not even sure I know what the thread is with so many people trying to drive their own narratives... The amount of people trying to take the thread title and run with it is pretty extreme in here, though its clear who the instigator of allot of this is...

"Germany has become Sony's largest console market for the first time, as gamers switch from PC's to PlayStation's. "

To try and save the people who jumped to conclusions and made fools of themselves, this is the ONLY time in the article that PC is mentioned and it doesn't mention anything else about PC at all. Why they said PC instead of Xbox or Nintendo is what I can't figure out about the article. PC isn't even a console, are they comparing PS4 sales to pre-built manufacturer PC's or something? Makes no sense.
