Back then it seems there were some other users that posted their setups along with talks of the Crysis and Metro series, although I don't see too much ehat in your discussions, they were good ones none the less. I feel back 2 years ago there wasn't much in terms of "attacking" the platform per say, duscussions from back then didn't seem as heated as they are now, though I think that's due to the start of a new gen, new starts tend to have bumps here and there and this gen seems to ramp things up a bit in terms of versus topics.

It's not a bad thing that you've lurked for some time, no need to apologize, I lurked the site for a good year and a half before 8th gen started and joined during the summer before the launch of the other two remaining systems. I also lurked the Escapist for a good 2 years before joining back in 2010 (Yahtzee drew me to the site originally).

There is one thing I'll have to note on this and I have seen over the times where one person gets outright banned for obscene usage of swears and insults but petty and veiled jabs tend to get ignored, with me for an example I've noticed "balance" judgements were being made time and time again despite the differences in others interacting with me or someone else. It felt for a time that if I ever said something towards someone and they said something just as bad or something of a jab, then I;m to have dirt found on me to make said "balanced" judgement (basically when one cannot come to a consensus and judge the one person to be judged and instead tries to force a balance to let the other person off in the longrun).

I've also noticed that in another recent PC thread there were jabs all over the place, but I found out as soon as you claim you have a PC and take photos of it then you're perfectly alright and in the clear from any and all judgement, though int he end I am no doubt going to be told that this is not my place to say such things but I'll also point out that we still have no general place to talk openly about judgements and moderation as usual, we can only message individually to an email address like any other big name company and then hope everyone around the round table is summoned to listen to what is being asked/said.

Note that I am in no way afraid of speaking my mind on this issue but I do definitely strongly feel that not being allowed to talk anywhere about moderation issues or judgements effectively kills making the community a better and more healthier in the longrun, no matter what a mod might say, they know it to be true, outside of this site they are just as human and as normal as any other, they must accept criticism regardless, hiding behind a title does not grant you godlike diplomatic immunity to being criticized for making bad calls and this is something I believe all moderators should focus on. (I also talk to a mod on skype from time to time and I know there are definite issues to be worked among them that should be focused on and not ignored).

As a last note I really must point out that making a judgement based on ones avatar to a platform shouldn't be allowed and yet in your case it somehow is. I remember seeing someone get banned for such a remark a while back.

You should get you facts straight.

You may think "on" and "for" and "ported" and "optimized" have the same meaning, but they don't. The game is not being developed for PC, it is being developed for consoles using a standard approach of doing the work on PC. Dev kits aren't simply jail broken PS4s after all. The PS4 dev kit CPU is clocked at 2.75GHz whereas the PS4 CPU is 1.6GHz, I think. So technically all console games are developed on PC and then optimized for console.

Oh, this thread wasn't originally a PC gaming discussion it was originally put in the General Gaming discussion by Zero129, it was moved in here by mods a bit into the thread.

I'm not sure if CGi could start off by placing his threads for PC discussion in a PC discussion portion of the forums it might help to control which members of the site do and don't join in the chat to start off with. Also a basis for your whole argument of this game launching on the PC is the fact that it is being programed on the PC platform? I mean how many of the SNES games do you think were programmed using a Super Nintendo? or any console pretty much ever. (bar the ouya), the logic just doesn't work.

I'm not saying that this game won't launch on the PC, given SE's track record of bringing the whole FF universe to the platform, but to say that all water you drink starts off in the Clouds, ergo you drinking water will allow you to float like a cloud, no, doesn't work that way. Also keep in mind that the architechture of the ps4 is far closer to any of the previous generations of consoles, so it isn't (or shouldn't be) a shock that while they are working on compacting down the game to fit in the RAM and processing power of the system that they would be doing some early testing of it on the PC and then working to trim down the code to fit onto the PS4.

So people should ignore lines that you write because they should have no meaning to them, but someone like Desktop2k3 talking about this in here is personal insults towards you and should be (and was, along with several of the others who came in here to flame you for this thread) moderated, you should take a read back, there are quite a few banned people on here because of this thread and for writing small lines of text that shouldn't have meaning to them.

Can't just take pot shots at people or their preferences but then be shocked and surprised when they reply in kind. When it comes down to it this whole forum, including those personal insults that fly about, are all little lines of text.

For starters this is actually a PS4 topic not a PC topic. The article is about the game's development for PS4, and merely noting the fact that development is being done on PC, which is standard industry practice. The article specifically says this is not confirmation of a PC release, so there is actually no news at all in here for PC gamers. There is barely any fuel for PC speculation. So just the act of putting it in the PC gaming sub-forum is essentially calling PS4 gamers into a thread on the PC sub-forum, because it is news about the progress of the development and state of readiness of the game for PS4.

What did you really expect?

Edit: Just saw ganoncroth's comment that the thread was originally in general gaming discussion. That was a more appropriate place for this thread than the mods were wrong to move it. If anything it should have been moved to PS4 discussion. I guess the Zero wanted this to be speculation about a PC release, but the actual news is all about development on PS4, so why wouldn't PS4 gamers be interested / welcome to come and talk about this news?

It was moved when shots started to get fired back and forth regarding Zero thinking what has been said here is confirmation of the PC port being made, I would guess based on the stance of the OP the mods moved it to where it was more suited, especially when he started to act shocked that gamers from a non pc background (and lol some PC hardcore gamers) came in here and gave their 2 cents on the news.

Was there ever any doubts it would come to PC ? FF has been coming to PC since VII.

Although it did make me wonder what part of Ireland you're in where you can avoid "Desmond" and go outside with the tablet to enjoy gaming!
