Forums - Nintendo - What's been Wii U's best year so far, games-wise?

?

2012 5 3.45%

2013 15 10.34%

2014 86 59.31%

2015 39 26.90%

Total:145

I'm probably gonna have to say 2015.

Splatoon, Yoshi's Woolly World, and Xenoblade Chronicles X are some of the best games I've played on the Wii U.

2014 is my runner up for having Smash Wii U.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

This year

2014 was epic for me: Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, Tropical Freeze and Smash Bros 4 was greatness, and of course Hyrule Warriors and specially Captain Toad were very nice games too.

However 2 of my 5 favourite games on the console were released this year, Splatoon and Xenoblade Chronicles X. And I love Super Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World and Fast Racing Neo too.

I would say is tied between 2014/2015

For me it's a tie between 2014 and 2015

2014: Smash Bros and Mario kart
2015: Splatoon and Mario Maker

I can't decide

Easily 2014. Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros WiiU are both in my top 50!

2014 (MK8, Smash 4 HW) or 2015 (Splatoon, Xenoblade X)

Probably will go with 2015 actually since Splatoon is my most played Wii U game

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

2014

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Mario Kart 8
Bayonetta 2
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

It had 4 really good games that year.

I feel like you can't really choose one specific year, because for me they seem to all go together.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

For me, its 2015, because Xenoblade X was the reason why i bought a Wii U and fast racing Neo was a very welcome extra.

2015 has proven to be the best year in terms of "I didn't expect that". Splatoon, SMM, and Xenoblade have defined this year for me.

Splatoon has defined a genre for this year alone. While Xenoblade has taken up a spot right up there next to Witcher 3 as not only one of the best open-world games, but one of the best games of the year.

SMM is just a joy for my brain when it comes to level creation and fluidity.
