I would say 2014 followed closely by 2015 followed closely by 2012+2013 (it was only available for like 6 weeks in 2013 so I'll combine it with 2013).
2012+2013-New Super Mario/Luigi U+Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD+Super Mario 3D World
2014-Tropical Freeze+Mario Kart 8+Hyrule Warriors+Bayonetta 2+Smash Bros+Captain Toad
2015-Rainbow Curse+Splatoon+Mario Maker+Woolly World+Xenoblade X

Aw, poor 2012 finally got a vote! :)
I'm gonna go with the consensus here and say 2014; Bayonetta 2, (still the best game on the console in my book) Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, The Swapper, Art of Balance, Hyrule Warriors.
2015 here. Splatoon is better than MK. XenoX is better than Smash. SMM surprised me a bit, whenever I get YWW I'm gonna love it. It also got the Wii VC, if that counts. MPT is epic.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

It's difficult to pinpoint since each year has had its ups and downs. But I mean, 2015 has Splatoon and Xenoblade X. So 2015 for me so far. But 2016 will top it with Star Fox, Zelda, SMT X FE and Pokken

Yes 2014!!!! - MK8. HW, Bayonetta 2 and SSBU
Right now i dont think 2016 will beat it, but of course more games will still be announced.
Pocky Lover Boy!

2014, obviously. Not much point exercising redundancy in explaining why.
I'm torn between 2014 and 2015...
2014 had Tropical Freeze, MK8, and Smash, not to mention Hyrule Warriors and Captian Toad...
But 2015 has Mario Maker, Splatoon (my game of the generation so far), Yoshi, which has really surprised me, as well as Xenoblade (which I can't open until Christmas)...
Plus 2015 was the year we finally got to play EarthBound Zero...
Have a nice day...
"Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze" was followed by "Mario Kart 8", which was followed by "Bayonetta 2", and culminated in "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U".
No other year stood a chance... Unless 2015 had fallen into place with "Zelda" and "Star Fox Zero".
