This isn't weird. I'm surprised NoA didn't just default to a digital only release. They likely printed the absolute minimum number of copies and basically only shipped pre-orders and a copy or two to any store that happened to request it.

But once they committed to give it a physical release, that might actually be more expensive for them than printing and shipping a half-decent number of copies...

That is the games store, it is not up and running...

Even Nintendo .com is only selling it digitally and when they steer you towards a retailer they give you Amzaon which has none, BestBuy, which has none, and gamestop. That is it!

And Play-Asia is still saying "pending stock arrival"...

I got my copy the day it came out from gamestop. The one closest to me had one but somebody had pre-ordered it. So I went to the next closest gamestop right around the corner and they had one copy left. And I honestly like the game. I probably would have beaten it already but I stopped to watch UFC last night. Anyway they seem to have some copies on strong island.

I'm able to pre-order it on amazon.com. pre-ordered it last week, and got the game last Friday.
Initially I saw it in Amazon as unavailable but after a few days, I've checked my wishlist and it became available, then I've pre-ordered it.

I think there is a small number of copies that amazon has. and people still bought it.

I can continue playing it, but I need to stop and continue my XCX play-through.
