Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Patent Shows Freeform Display For (NX?) Controller/Portable

Pretty interesting! Although, I don't understand why the display have to cover the entire controller since you're be covering up like a third or more of the controller with your hands, thus blocking out a big chunk of the actual display.... Would be very cool if you could move around the button layout how ever you want them, but this would only be a good thing if the display could actually make your fingers FEEL the buttons. Forgot what the word for that is...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I just wanted a small xbox one style controller with a touchpad screen in the middle. Making sure it had proper analogue triggers too. I don't want radical ideas for game controllers if it spoils the feel of the game. Very happy with conventional controllers although a touch screen for specific occasional feature keys would be great to add.

Still feel pretty hyped for NX so hope Nintendo don't much it up with gimmicks that actually spoil the control of games.

Oh man no more gimmicks Nintendo....

I wouldn't mind a standard controller. If i have to have a new type of standard controller - and if it works! - i'll give it a chance.

Haptic Feedback, yes? It shouldn't be too difficult to give some feeling of push on surface, although it would likely be a feeling of pushing more resistant jello over hard button.

I think the best compromise is to have a transparent plastic d-pad + 4 face buttons "clip on" or slide on over the controller if this is what they want. I don't want to have to have like 5 different controllers for this thing either.

I also have to wonder if another expensive controller that really doesn't dramatically alter the game play is that smart.

They better be getting a cheap deal on these Sharp LCDs and they better scale down in price as time goes on, or it'll be like the Wii U again.

Haptic feedback, yes! That would be such a cool thing to have. Just imagine the puzzles you could do for Zelda with that.
