Miyamoto's "Movie length" comment does imply a short game based on multiple playthroughs, which is also consistent with Starfox SNES and Starfox N64.

Like I wrote, I am pretty sure that Miyamoto was misunderstand about length of game. I dont expect long game, but certainly dont expect "material that will have only around 2-3 hours". I expecting main campaign with around 4-6 hours, but with great replayability and some additional content (maybe that Project Guard or something similar), so that would be far more material than only 2-3 hours.

There's not a lot of room for misunderstanding in:

"We want it to be that you can complete the course of the game in the same amount of time you would spend watching a movie"

Again, I dont expect long game, but certainly dont expect "material that will have only around 2-3 hours". I expecting main campaign with around 4-6 hours, but with great replayability and some additional content (maybe that Project Guard or something similar), so that would be far more material than only 2-3 hours.

What are you basing your 4-6 hour prediction on, though?

I'm basing mine of Miyamoto himself's word.

Because I find that is impossible that Nintendo release games that have length of 2-3 hours for $60 game (event for $40) game in 2016.

Why?

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash is $50 and has less content than some $20 games.

Beacuse I dont think Nintendo would release games that have length of 2-3 hours for $60 game (even for $40) game in 2016. :)

Well Mario Tennis is sport game with online play, not exactly same thing.

So you'll flat out ignore a direct statement from Shigeru Miyamoto, the game's producer?

Like I already wrote, I am pretty sure that Miyamoto was misunderstand about length of game, it wouldn't be first time that Nintendo statements from Japanese is misunderstand, because I don't believe that Nintendo would release game that have length of 2-3 hours in 2016. I just cant imagine game like that.

No, just thinking very realistically, that Nintendo will not release game in 2016. that have length of 2-3 hours, and it not first time that Nintendo Japanese statements are misunderstood.
